  • Captivating & Intriguing

No matter how much you think you want to know about something, sometimes the truth is worse. Billy Jo’s search for the truth about her background may just lead her to where she doesn’t want to be, but Mark Friessen is becoming to realize he’s willing to stand by her wherever it leads. When it looks like she’s being stalked and possibly targeted, is she finally getting close to the answers she’s been looking for or is someone trying to put a deadly stop to all her questions? It’s an intriguing tale with a touch of excitement, lots of drama, and some emotional moments. While Billy Jo and Mark are beginning to form a bond of friendship in this episode, there are hints that there’s more going on behind the scenes which may eventually prove detrimental to them both. As always, there’s more to the captivating storyline with its thought provoking references to the inequities of the social services system and injustices found within law enforcement. And, although Billy Jo may attain most of the answers she’s looking for, there are still some questions to be asked. Really looking forward to what more is to come.

  • Who is Billy Jo's birth mother?

Burdened by her unstable childhood, social worker Billy Jo McCabe is in search of her birth mother to find the truth of why she was abandoned as a child. As her research pays off, she confronts the woman who she is sure is her birth mother. Carly denies all of it and shortly after Billy Jo is warned by the Sherriff’s office to stay away. Billy Jo is sure that she is right and has no intentions of letting go. Mark Friesson of the Sherriff’s office is also suspicious of the situation. Although Mark has been her nemesis, he agrees to help Billy Jo get to the truth. Another good story with two of my favorite families.

  • A heart tugging story, well written.

This review is based on the audiobook. A good story with mystery abound, I feel it flows well and has some interesting characters. Unfortunately for me, the narrator is not to my liking, but maybe that's because I am from the UK and voices can be so different. I received this audiobook for free from the author and wanted to give an honest review.
