    Thanks for your feedback!

    A great story w/ a strong hero & heroine & an HEA.

This is the 7th book in the Covert Cowboys, Inc. series but you won’t be lost at all if you haven’t read any of the others. This is a complete story with an HEA. Reggie lost her husband a year ago to an accident and was left with their young son to raise. She is determined to hold on to the ranch her husband inherited so it can be passed down to their son. Angus lost most of his right leg while serving his country. As a result of his injury he feels less of a man and is surprised when he is hired by CCI. His first assignment is to act as a ranch hand for Reggie while at the same time providing protection without her knowledge. There have been too many “accidents” on the ranch and her foreman, CW, recruited help from his friend Hank Derringer, the owner of CCI. This was an engaging and suspenseful story. It was quick paced and it wasn’t until near the end that I realized who the bad guy was. Elle James writes entertaining stories and I enjoyed reading this one very much! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    High Country Hideout

James re-enters the world of CCI with a flash and flair that instantly drew me in. Her seamless narrative created a backdrop and intricate story that I found myself coming back to time and time again. Character and world building was intricate but slow for the first few chapters, and then the entire story picked itself up. I found myself equally interested in the suspense of the who-dun-it as in the chemistry between the main characters. Even better than the suspense of the tale was the characters who brought it forward. Both main characters here were genuine individuals that I found myself wanting to get to know better. Their pasts were full of the good and the bad. Seeing them come together was both heart-warming and enriching. At the same time, I loved how James didn’t make it easy, all the while developing the individuals that we met in quite unique ways. The dialogue was so natural. James really nails conversations in a way that brings her characters from good to great. I couldn’t help but be caught up in their interpersonal byplays. This is one of those novels that takes from the series that came before it while also standing completely on its own. James has created a suspenseful yet romantic tale that combines love, loss, redemption, and moving on with the wonders of ranch life. It’s a tale that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and that I will definitely be recommending to others. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

    Another great story

Angus and Reggie were awesome! I loved them both. Reggie is a widowed mother that is working her ass off to keep the ranch running because she loves it and for her son. She has been having trouble though and is in denial that they are just accidents. Her foreman calls in help because he believes that they are more than just accidents. Angus is sent in to investigate and protect. CW, the foreman, hasn't told Reggie what Angus is there for exactly, just that he is another hand to help out. Angus is very defensive about his abilities because he lost his leg in the war and has a prosthetic and isn't keen on sharing that, worried that he will be viewed as not capable of doing the work. Reggie is very observant and knows that something is going on, not quite sure to what extent but doesn't let it affect the way that she treats him really. Reggie's attitude about his leg is actually very good for Angus and helps him to get over his over defensiveness. I really liked the way that the story flowed and how we figured out what the people causing the problems were after. The story keeps you guessing on who is actually causing the problems until almost the end. You have your suspicions but never really know for sure. I liked the way that the relationship between Angus and Reggie is built. Yes it's fast but it also seems believable to me. It's not just based off of chemistry but the way that they act to each other and the others surrounding them. That made it feel real for me. This is the seventh in the series but can be read as a standalone without any problems whatsoever. It stands on it's own. Can't wait to read more in this series.

    High Country Hideout

HIGH COUNTRY HIDEOUT has the perfect mix of romance and intrigue. Angus and Reggie each stole my heart in their own way. Angus is a soldier who lost his leg in an IED explosion and is trying to find his place. Signing on to be an agent for Covert Cowboys, Inc. has given him the chance to feel useful again and Reggie, her son Tad and the rest of Fool’s Fortune, Colorado have made him whole. Reggie is an incredibly strong woman. She’s lost her husband the year before and is determined to work her ranch in order to pass it along to her son. That includes fighting off mining speculators and everyone else in the town that thinks she should sell it. Reggie is determined to do it on her own and is adamant that she doesn’t need the hunky cowboy recently hired to help her out. Their relationship played out beautifully. The romance was hot and sensual and I loved how both bruised and battered souls found solace together in spite of the dangerous mystery surrounding the ranch. This is my first read from the Covert Cowboys, Inc. series and can easily be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed the story and would recommend it to all romantic suspense fans. ***I was gifted an eBook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***

Loved so much!!! Could not put it down.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review... Loved so much!!! Could not put it down. Angus was in the Army and was injured, so he went to work as an undercover cowboy. His first assignment was the Last Chance Ranch working for Reggie Davis. Reggie has been having some problems on the ranch. Doesn't know who or what is causing them. Reggie doesn't know that Angus is undercover just thinks he's a new ranch hand. Angus gets a little surprise when he finds out that Reggie is a woman and a widow. Angus is put right to work and trouble is defiantly afoot. As they work side by side the romance builds and Angus must discover who is after Reggie before it is too late.
