  • Good read but the heroine was a bit much

I liked this book but the heroine was a bit much. Overall, I found this book quite enjoyable. I thought the writing was well done and the story entertaining. I fell so hard for Gray. I found his story and his attitude very fun. I was not such a fan as far as Mercy went. Personally I found her grating and too often, annoying. Still, as part of the couple I felt the chemistry was good as was the banter. I am posting an unbiased, unsolicited review.

  • Fun, funny, and quirky

Loved this book! The characters are fantastic, from the quirky Gray, also known as the fastest gunslinger, to the independent Mercy, who is fighting to keep her land, along with a whole host of supporting characters. The preacher, in particular, made me laugh out loud. The town, Desolation, played such a significant role that was almost a character itself. When Gray rolls into Desolation, he's looking for a quiet place to be alone and quietly live out his last days. When he encounters Mercy, she quickly introduces him as her fiance to the local bully trying to force her land from her. When Gray goes along with it, things quickly go off the rails and land him in a situation he never anticipated. This book is fun, funny, and quirky. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found myself turning pages just as quickly as possible. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list.

  • An entertaining western romance!

Hitched to the Gunslinger was a wonderful story about two unlikely strangers being in the right place (or the wrong place depending on how you look at it) at the right time. Gray was a gunslinger and very reserved when it came to involving himself in affairs of others but when he did get involved, he was all in. I liked that about him. I also liked how he had little dealings with affairs of the heart and his reactions at times were comical because of this inexperience. Mercy was a strong woman who was just trying to hold onto what was rightfully hers. I can’t say that I loved her character all the time but I did think that she was the right woman for Gray. The townspeople in this story were colorful and memorable. I loved all of them and their interactions with Gray and Mercy. I would love to live in a town where everyone took care of their neighbors like they did :D. Something I really appreciated about Hitched to the Gunslinger was that both Gray and Mercy were mature characters and I mean in both age and attitude. Not that often you run across romance interests that are in their thirties let alone their forties. Although, if I had to read too many more references to Gray napping all the time, I might have become slightly disgruntled. Ha ha ha, it is mentioned a lot. Overall, Hitched to the Gunslinger was an entertaining western romance that had heart, humor, and plenty of action. This review is based on a complimentary book I received. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

  • Very funny!

This was very cute and very funny. Some of the scenes I could envision in my head just like a tv show - very clever. Grey is such an easy hero to root for, and I love that he was such a grumpy curmudgeon. I received a copy of this book from Entangled Publishing. All opinions are my own.

  • Fun historical romance

Hitched to the Gunslinger was so much fun. I really liked Mercy and Gray. Gray is a retired gunslinger who is roped into becoming Mercy’s fake fiancee after the resident bad guy is trying to take Mercy’s property. There were several parts of the story where I laughed out loud. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author. Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.
