    Contemporary Romance

Intelligent science types abound in this book and the romance, though it takes place for months online, sets the stage for Jay and Maria to eventually know one another better than they might otherwise have been able to if their only encounters had taken place in person. The moment Jay realizes who that MCL/Em is also Maria was major for both of them. Working through that eye-opener was not easy for them but definitely worth it. This feels like a “smart” New Adult romance and it is one that I would recommend to readers who like different and thought provoking stories. I will say that if you do not like the idea of the of bisexuality and transgender persons or other than heterosexual relationships this is probably not a book for you. I love a book that is not the peopled with typical characters pursuing a stereotypical romance and enjoy those that make me think and experience life in new ways – this book hit all of those goals and was a delight for me to read. This is my first book written by Courtney Milan but it will not be my last. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC. This is my honest review.

    Fun, geeky contemporary romance

A very good book. First it keeps a lot of the Cyclone characters, including AFR, bubbling along in their own story arcs, giving enough looks to satisfy and tease for future volumes, without letting them overwhelm Maria and Jay's story. And their story is fun. For all that Jay spends about the first half of the book wearing his ass on his head. Typically, when one character starts getting his issues into the open, and dealing with them (if not ever putting them completely to rest, because that's not realistic - you just learn to recognize and deal and derail the unhelpful patterns of thought), the other character's own issues start becoming the more pressing hazard to their relationship. Very believable and very fun. I really enjoyed it.

    Outstanding!

Courtney Milan is brilliant and her writing is clever, engaing, lively and wonderful. What a treat to have intelligent characters as protagonists and to be forced to stretch our understanding of the world, whether physics or transgendered identities. Thank you, Courtney, for championing tbe minorities and the misunderstood. You are amazing!
