    Surprising

This book was not what I expected. I was pleasantly surprised! Following a blind girl as the main character I would think would be difficult, but the author's writing was very fluid and kept me wanting to read more...

Home is the heart of this story.

I did not want to put this book down. I enjoyed the story line and I wanted to see how the characters handled the various situations they were presented with. Shallah is a great example of some one with a strong will to survive and make her disability an asset.

This book was beautifully written. Shallah goes on a journey to help a young boy return to his home. Though blind and unfamiliar with where she must go, her journey leads her to the best of ends.
