    Magdalena Scott’s Home for Christmas

This is an emotional power packed, heartwarming read mixed with the magic of the Christmas season. The story blends love at first sight, complications, clever witty incidents, disappointment, loss, grieving, fear too trust, fear to love again, family issues, business determination, friendship, secrets and love. Maureen McClain & Damien Phillips experience love at first sight when meeting at a gallery opening. An unusual feeling for both parties!! After a few dates, Maureen arrives unexpectedly at Damien’s, she experiences a surprising scene. Maureen drives away, never looking back. She refuses to answer any call from Damien. It was over before it really began. Well fleshed out, complex, interesting characters with the supporting characters adding to the flavor. Smooth flowing writing style plus talented descriptions that make the reader feel part of the town of Legion, Tennessee. You will be party to the workings within the McClain family in addition to the dynamics occurring in the Phillips family. A holiday read you will definitely want to read!! I volunteered to read Home for Christmas. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is my own.

    Home again

I'm sad this looks to be the last of the books about the McClains of Legend. They seem to be the backbone of the town and not just because the success of the town economically can be traced back to them. It's just been a real pleasure to read about such a tightknit family who care so much for each other and for their town. It's also been lovely to build on the cast of characters as old "friends" appear to aid in plot development. Damien's reputation, through Choe's eyes, at the launch of her gallery, made him seem to be someone we might prefer not to know, but seeing him in this book, as Emma's father, and the evolution of his relationship with Maureen, has made him into someone really likeable. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
