The Sequel is Never as Good as the Original

His earlier book 'Sapiens' is an eye-opening page turner I strongly recommend. This one is a lame sequel that is well-written, engaging and yet shallow, vacuous and disappointing. It's the same author but here he delves into opinion, guesswork and randomly raising questions he has no intention of even trying to answer. Quite bluntly he seems to have slapped together a book to profit from the success of the first one. That's understandable but the fact remains this is a shallow disappointment that I cannot recommend.

    Relevant easy to read

İt is easy to read, and thoughts are well structured. However, could be shorter, as it goes overarticulation in some chapters.

    Must read

Combines much recent reading and thinking with stunning new insights - and many new questions. Written accessibly and with flashes of wit and exasperation, and backed up with more research than my Sapiens brain can process. I'm asking some good young minds his final 3 questions.

    Fantastisch!

Homo Sapiens was al erg interessant, Homo Deus gaat daar nog eens zwaar overheen. Ben erg blij dit boek toch, redelijk lang na Homo Sapiens, gekocht en gelezen te hebben!

    Astounding.

This text changed the way I perceive the world. You can't give a book higher praise than that. An instant classic.
