  • Quick, cute read

Hope Smolders was a quick read that introduces the small town of Hope where Jane and Will have lived their whole lives. While we meet a few other people in town I was happy that Jaci Burton didn’t overwhelm us with too many characters; it was the just the right balance for setting up a new series. Will was a near perfect hero who sees past Jane’s exhaustion and body insecurity and instead sees the hard working, caring mother she is. Jane was really sweet but definitely very hard on herself; she makes some mistakes in their relationship, but she’s honest about them and always apologizes to Will. One of the things I liked most about Hope Smolders was that it centers around a hero and heroine with normal lives who date like normal people. Often romances have characters that bypass any type of dating for quick flings or tumultuous relationships. While I like those books it’s also nice to mix it up every once and while with some old school dating.

    Thanks for your feedback!
