    Slow but engaging story

This is a good novel to me. As an Indian, Bengali person, it's interesting to read something so realistic about the early settlers society of Canada. I liked it ..

    Unexplainable feelings

I liked the book. It was a good read. The story started out strong, drifted for me in the middle and then finished with a blast. I skimmed the few middle chapters that did not interest me and just seemed like filler in the story, no details fulfilling the plot. The ending was a surprise, echoing situations and struggles occurring to this day.

An enjoyable story written in an easy style that covers some challenging issues for the time period setting.

    Horse with no name

I liked this book. It is so easy to forget how hard it was for women and gender challenged people. Now trans gender and women doing careers that were not available to them is the norm. We have come a long hard road.
