    Reignited- Ashlyn Drake

So far I've only read Reignited in this boxset and if this story is any indication, I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this collection!! Mason and Harper have returned to their hometown for their 10 year reunion. Back in high school, the time was never right for them but their attraction was always present. This weekend will give them the chance to see if the chemistry is still there and if the time will finally be right for them. I absolutely loved Mason and Harper!! One of my favorite parts of this story was the flashbacks to high school that showed just how long these two have been harboring feelings for one another. I also loved how both of them put everything out there all the time. There was no real back and forth, I wonder what he/she is thinking. I can't wait to finish the other 21 stories in this collection!

Partial review based on ARC recieved

I haven’t read this anthology in its entirety; therefore this review is only for “Once a Bridesmaid” by Courtney Hunt. If only Lauren's story was not real life. I have been in her shoes and lived her life and know what it means to shake and break out in a sweat when voices are raised. Child abuse takes many forms, and Lauren's reaction to permanent relationships is not at all unusual. That Kyle could see beyond her brittle exterior to the wounded woman's soul, speaks of a man who is capable of great kindness and insight. I loved Lauren's quirky, artistic temperament, and Kyle was a perfect fit. As a soldier, a journalist and photographer, his whole make-up is one of protector and gentle artist. I did find the explicit sex uncomfortable, but I have also observed that many women who have been hurt attempt to find warmth through the physical act, while not wanting to commit themselves or allow anyone to get close. I delighted in Kyle's gentle luring of Lauren into his arms, and the way in which he patiently wooed her. I was pleased that the book came to a satisfactory ending.

    Heart of a Liar

Heart of a Liar by: Ella Miles A phenomenal read. I was captivated from he first word till the last. Luca and Ivy's story is beautiful. My favorite quotes: Luca to Ivy ~ "Don't worry, princess; the scars are worth it. Because every time I look at them or feel them, I'll remember how I felt in this moment, how happy and loved I was, if only for a short time." Luca to Ivy ~ "You've seen the good and the bad, just like this rose is beautiful yet has thorns." I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

An outstanding anthology by 22 bestselling authors

Hot & Sinful Nights is an anthology of 22 full-length novels & novellas from some of today's most well-known & bestselling romance authors. I'll be reviewing two of these stories, Perfect Match by Alexis Alvarez & My Undead Heart by Kacey Shea. First up is Perfect Match. Perfect Profiles is a matchmaking service specializing in computer-enhanced personality profiles. Its owner, Fia Martin, has had more than a few successful relationships & marriages. She's built a great business. However, something's missing from Fia's life. She works non-stop, has no personal life to speak of & is pretty much alone except for her bestie, Grace. She accepts an invitation to appear on a local TV show co-hosted by Chelsea Marr & Dylan Chambers, hoping to bring her business into the black. But she starts to think maybe she's made a huge mistake. It's a competition. Her rival? Connie Birnbaum, another high-profile, very successful matchmaker specializing in millionaire romances. The contest? Find a love match for Chelsea's handsome, hot & oh-so-charming co-host Dylan. But Dylan's not a willing participant. Chelsea seems to have an agenda she's not sharing with Fia. Then there's Connie, Fia's inspiration to start Perfect Profiles. As the rivalry between Fia & Connie builds, things turn disastrous for Fia. Each of Dylan's dates are taped & televised. Each successive date through Perfect Profiles is worse than the prior one. It looks like Dylan's deliberately sabotaging Fia's dates because he's certainly having fun with Connie's clients! Then there's the explosive chemistry between Fia & Dylan, as inappropriate as that might seem. As events spiral out of control, there's the real possibility that Fia's business will soon be gone. Can Fia win this? Will her business survive? What about Dylan? His secrets could destroy Fia's life & his entire world. Nothing is certain until the very end, which will change the lives of every person involved! Next is My Undead Heart. Mia's life seems simple enough. She's brilliant, a video game creator extraordinaire with best friends who always have her back. What more could a girl want? Romance? No! Mia's been burned so badly that love's a bad four-letter word. She's content with her cosplay, dressing up as a zombie, living her life for herself. But is she happy? She's built walls within walls to protect her heart. She feels like the undead zombie she pretends to be. Matt Haywood's a former MMA champion turned gym owner/coach who thought he had it, only to fall from grace & end up with nothing. He's built his gym with nothing but determination & hard work. But the gym is floundering. He just needs a few more weeks. There's a huge match on the horizon & one of his students is the best of the best. If he can just get there, he'll be okay. But Matt's situation is dire. To keep his gym open until the big match, he goes to his friend Zig for a job as a bouncer at his bar. While there, he sees the most beautiful woman. And, she's a zombie? Wait, did Halloween come early? Despite her bizarre makeup & clothing, Matt's irresistibly drawn to this quirky but gorgeous woman. Too bad she doesn't feel the same! Of course, it's Mia & while she's just as impressed with Matt's gorgeous, hunky body, there's no way in hell she's getting involved with a Neanderthal like him. She doesn't want or need a man in her life, certainly not one like Matt. Despite the chemistry, Matt doesn't want or need a relationship either. It's his business he needs to focus on. But fate throws Mia & Matt together time after time. Sparks fly. There's chemistry neither wants to admit to. There's so much of which neither is aware that could tear their lives into shreds. Can Mia overcome her past? As obstacles are placed in Matt's path, exactly how much can he endure before he breaks? When the past comes back to haunt both, it seems like the perfect storm of destruction. Can Matt & Mia put aside their pain & trauma & look to what might be? Or will everything go up in flames, including what they both want & need? Thanks for reading my review & happy reading!

Excellent anthology for so little money

This review is for "My Undead Heart" by Kacey Shea- Mia is not your typical lead female. She's a top video game designer, total Walking Dead nerd, and has become a bit of a cold-hearted B to protect herself after a bad relationship in her past. Luckily, she has her best friend Jared (I love him. We *all* need a Jared in our lives) and his sister Rae to keep her sane. Matt was so sweet. He's a former UFC/MMA fighter who now owns a gym. Let me be clear. I am not a huge fan of sports romances. But Matt is so much more than a meathead. He is sweet, honest, respectful, and just--- damn he's good. Trust me. You'll fall for him too. But he has demons of his own that he has to admit to Mia, or else the relationship will be sabotaged. These two characters were refreshing and unique. The writing dealt with important issues like domestic abuse, gambling addiction, and losing a parent to cancer. But it had an even amount of times that I smirked and laughed out loud. A fun balance of humor and heart that won me over to the tune of five stars. I like Kacey Shea's writing- a lot. She's an indie that I wish others would notice more. This is her best work to date. Loved it. Was thrilled and blessed to get an ARC of this story. Keep up the great work Ms. Shea. I'll be watching. This review is for "Perfect Match" by Alexis Alvarez- Fia owns a small business that matches single people based upon algorithms and metrics. When she gets the chance to showcase her business in a head-to-head competition on a local morning tv show, she learns firsthand the effects of sound byte-type editing and unfair competition. But she is determined to prevail in ensuring that Dylan, a correspondent on the show, is set up with the right woman- even if the sparks fly between them. Alvarez tells a story with funny facts and sarcastic, witty banter. Several of the scenes in the book reminded me of her other works, including "Casey's Choice," "His Firm Direction," and "Dream Girl."
