    Refreshingly, Fun Story

Spinster House was established for women who don't want to marry, for whatever reason. It provides a home and funds for the woman living there; especially important in the 1800s! But there can only be one occupant at a time. The last occupant left to marry. Now, there are three women vying for the position. Refreshingly fun story, actually more than one! The appealing characters make for a lively read! Book free thru Netgalley.

    Great story!! Loved the cat!

This is the second book in the series and I really liked how it went along with the first one, using the same time frame was a very interesting way to set things. That being said, I think you should read this as stand alone, but it might be slightly confusing. We meet and get to know more about Anne Davenport in the installment. She is one of the Spinster House hopefuls. She is hoping that the current resident of the Spinster house will marry the Duke of Hart and she is more than willing to start a rumor to push the two together, but the Duke's cousin Nate, the Marquess of Haywood, has other ideas. You see, there is a curse if you believe in those types of things. Nate certainly does, as does all the Hart family. No heir shall live to see his son born. And so far, it's proven true. A curse by a jilted woman set this in motion many generations ago. The house they call the Spinster House was hers. So Nate vows to his mother that he will protect the Duke of Hart "Marcus" and not let him marry. Anne wants nothing more than the Duke to marry Cat so she can have the Spinster house and not be living with her soon to be Step Mother, who is a year younger than her! This was a great addition to the first book! I love how the story ran along the same timeline and added little bits from the first book. I liked the writing and the difficult situation Anne was in, was well done. Nate was a mess, but fun to watch him realize what he needed! I absolutely recommend this book and the first one!! They were both wonderful! 4.5 stars! Heat rating of 3 out of 5! *I received a courtesy copy of this book from Netgalley!*

A Book I've been waiting impatiently for!

How to Manage a Marquess by Sally MacKenzie is one that I have been waiting for. It is the second installment in the Spinster House series. I found these books to be quirky fun reads with characters you can't help but like. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next chapter of the Spinster House series. I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
