  • A methodical approach to writing

I liked the story of pigs and bears. I can see the physicist in the way the method is build and also the way the book is written. Not totally my type of approach but still, a clear and detailed guide to start writing when intuition and spontaneity isn't there.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Just right.

Goed verhaal om een verhaal schrijven op gang te brengen. Duidelijk en eenvoudig.

  • reccommended for aspiring authors

What Mr. Ingermanson has done, is to produce a fairly rugged and reliable method of creating a first draft, ironically called the snowflake method. He could also have called it the onion method, but chose not to. For a long time I had been trying to start writing my novel, but my inexperience and incompetence halted me. I tried by reading some other books, and gathering the knowoedge on how to write a novel by listening to podcasts, reading blog posts, etc. No doubt the knowledge gained prepared me in some way, but it wasn't until I applied the snowflake method that I was able to finish a first draft that I found acceptable. Impressively, this book includes both the theoretical framework of the method as well as the practical result of the tale of goldilocks trying to write a novel, using the snowflake method, and the snowflake for that tale. I recommend to any aspiring writer!
