    Hunger

I like that I finally found another good read from Jacquelyn! Her story lines really make you think hard while reading. That makes you go back reading. I did that a lot. I was a bit bored in places at the beginning. Felice is kidnapped in a big, empty room out cold. Then in comes Halo, the Vampire Saver! Major Spoiler! If you are thrown into a room together naked what would you do? Michael abused Felice. Major Spoiler! Roth and Jonah put them in their situation. Major Spoiler! Halo falls for her. Felice fell for him long before. Spoiler! The only way out is have sex! They had a lot of sex in the beginning and at the end. This is a true Erotica book. I know, but it was a bit too much for me. I still like the story and people. You may like this too, so check out this story. You may not regret reading it! Enjoy! I volunteered to read and review this book.

    Good romance

Hunger is a fast paced, paranormal romance with a different kind of vampires….which surprised me. These vampires take their energy from the sun and they have to take their blood from pure, clean source or risk becoming sycophants or phants for short. They are vampires who have crossed a line and have fed from unclean sources (junkies were used as an example). So, I was pretty excited to read this book. While I wasn’t disappointed, I did feel let down at points in the book. Why did I feel let down? Well, for one, I don’t like reading books out-of-order from a series. Hunger is not a standalone book that can be read out-of-order from the series and I honestly felt ripped off when Halo was going over the history of the e-vampires with Felice. Why ripped off? Because you know that more insight was given in the first book. But that’s on me. The other reason was that I felt that the book was rushed in some parts. I would have loved to see Felice in her store or being more natural. Not coming off of heroin and being hurt. I did like Felice, though. She had been through a lot before being taken. She had to uproot her entire life because of an abusive ex-boyfriend who was stalking her. That takes guts. Her being on heroin actually wasn’t her fault either. She was injected with it prior to Halo coming so when he fed on her, he would turn. She was so sweet and her reaction to Halo telling her about him being a vampire was priceless. I think I would have had the same reaction….lol. Halo, I liked too. But I didn’t like the name. It reminded me too much of the game and I did like that he actually brought that up….lol. What I liked was that he had no problems letting Felice know that he was a player and that no one tied him down. He was also fiercely loyal to his queen and was determined to find the men who imprisoned Felice and himself. Not going to say who….you need to read the book to find that out for yourselves!! The sex between Felice and Halo was beyond hot. It was page burning hot and I couldn’t get them out of my head after I finished the book. So, yeah, it stays with you….lol. The end of the book was pretty good but I really didn’t like it. I wanted more. I wanted to see who the next book would be about (I do have my suspicions). How many stars will I give Hunger: 3 Why: Like I said above, I felt that the book was rushed in places. But I did like Halo and Felice and thought that their romance was hot and sexy. Will I reread: Maybe Will I recommend to family and friends: Yes Age range: Adult Why: Sex, violence and language **I chose to leave this review after reading an advance reader copy**

    Good and Different

Let me start by saying that I did like the book. The writing was very good and the characters are good. I did have a hard time with the believability of the characters at times. Sometimes I found that I was cheering for them but at other times I was rolling my eyes at them. I did enjoy how neatly this was all wrapped up and believable. Overall this is a good book and it keeps you interested throughout. The one big hangup that I had though was the vampires and their history, this is a very unusual take on it.

    Electric!

Ok, I have to start out by saying, that I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than the first one in the series. I was SO excited to read Halo's story, as he was a character that really intrigued me in the first book and made me hunger to know more about him. The way this story started out with Halo and Felice both wondering, along with myself, how they got where they are and precisely why they are there. I think that two naked strangers locked in a sealed room together makes for a curious and compelling book beginning, and I immediately found myself on board for the story to come. I thought the plot was well-crafted and moved along at a good pace. The characters were certainly interesting, and I liked the elements of humanity prevalent in Halo and others of his kind. They were subject to the same trappings of greed, lust and thirst for power, as well as emotions of tenderness, protectiveness and the need for good to conquer evil that their human counterparts experience. I liked Halo's balance of fierce and gentle. This is always appealing for me in a male lead. Overall, I was quite pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this second installment in the series, after the mixed feelings I had about the first . I am, now, eagerly looking forward to the next book. *I received a complimentary ARC of this story from NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
