    Hunters' Watch Brigade: The Game

Hunters' Watch Brigade: The Game is the second book in the Hunters' Watch Brigade series, and we reunite with Sam, Max, Shade, Cyn, Helmina, Miss Daisy, Tex, and the rest of the crew. We start off in the thick of the action as Sam and Max try to stop a thieving wizard. It turns out he is just the start, as a game is being played that could have serious consequences. On top of that, Max is struggling. He only has six weeks from his shift to show his allegiance to Bast in the form of a vision quest. Until he does that, his magic isn't all it could be, and it puts Sam in danger. This is a great continuation of the first book. Sam and Max actually spend much of this one apart from each other, but that just makes it all the better when they reunite. I would love to know more about Max's fourth level, but it looks like the third will just have to do. Sam misses Max, but has to learn how to work without him in the meantime. I loved her going to Olympus, and speaking with Artemis. I thought that was perfectly written, just how I would imagine the Greek Gods playing! As usual, there were no editing or grammatical errors that jolted me from the story. With great characters and excellent world building, I found the pacing to be well timed, with the transition from one scene to the next smooth. I have no hesitation in recommending either this book, or the series so far. Can't wait to read more. * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Amazing series that is action-packed & fun to read

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! Love this series! I will be buying the whole series when I can! The cover is beautiful and eye catching…at least to me it is! This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence. I highly recommend reading the books in order, so you understand the world and characters. This is an amazing world, and you don’t want to miss any of it! I love how feisty Sam is, and she is always wanting to do things her way. Sam and Max get into some trouble with Shade where Shade places all the blame on Max. His powers are still wonky, and he needs to deal with the family curse. Max likes to protect everyone, and he loves Sam. There is all sorts of adventure in this book. It is a page-turner that I couldn’t put down. I love books like this that are packed with action where you never know what will happen next. I don’t want to give anything away, so read this series! I highly recommend to any paranormal fan because this book has it all! There is magic, witches, vamps, shifters, gods & goddess (both Greek and Egyptian), demigods, and a lot of awesomeness! I can’t wait for the next book!!

    An action packed urban fantasy!

I had a wonderful time reading this action packed urban fantasy that also included both Egyptian and Greek deities, dangerous monsters, and even some ooh la la paranormal romance! Though a large focus on this story is about Sam and Max, they are actually separated and dealing with their own issues for most of the time, which I liked because it gave more depth to the characters themselves. It definitely made Sam and Max likable as individual characters and not a mash up where you only saw them only as a couple. I also loved that this story was told from multiple points of view, the most common was Sam or Max, but I also read from the bad guy’s point of view and I always like to understand all the characters motivations, so that was nice. There was so much to love in Hunters’ Watch Brigade: The Game, it was an exciting read from start to finish and the action was non-stop! There are villains, some crazy, nearly impossible, situations, and through it all Sam and Max developing as a couple. If you are a fan of urban fantasy I highly recommend both the book and the series to you! This review is based on a complimentary book I received from NetGalley. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.
