    A Passionate and Skilled Writer

Ms. Hofmann fascinatingly takes the reader backwards in time to a point where she was diagnosed with HIV, at a time where prognosis was far less certain, and then forwards to her present day existence--living with HIV. Ms. Hofmann graciously schools us in the intricacies of her life before and after coming out of the HIV closet. Emotionally, the memoir unabashedly recounts a specific, deep and personal kind of pain that few things can invoke. On a physical or practical level, the memoir could have schooled the public a little more on the day to day consequences of what its really like to live with the human immunodeficiency virus. Overall, I loved this story and read it twice.
