  • Relatable, extremely relevant

This book is outstanding. As a white woman in my 60s living in Canada, this book provided so much that I could relate to, as strange as that may seem. It says so much about what is going on in every community, every city, and every country, and the frustrations experienced by so many. The author provides insight as to the real issues are and how no one can be complicit by using relatable, using examples from her life. This is an amazing read.

This book opened my eyes to so many things and filled my heart with hurt and pain for the African Americans that endure racism every song day. Everyone should read this book!!!

  • The curse of rasism

As an older white male this book has been a revelation. I was brought up in England in the 1940~50s. I remember when many African nations were gaining independance that we thought. «why would they want to e free when the British were doing such a wonderful job of ruling them. Racism is n the heart and change can be long and painful. Austin has spoken right from her heart and all races would benefit reading her account.
