    Simple and sweet

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. I am not really into sports romances but I read the previous two in the series and enjoyed them enough to request the third. I shouldn’t have, because I loathe romances where the only reason the couple is reluctant to be with each other is due to their lack of communication. It drives me crazy when people can’t be open and upfront with others right off the bat. However, I was excited to read Duncan’s story. We are introduced to him earlier in the series so it was a treat to see him get his HEA. I will say that the characters have their own strengths and flaws. I loved the country boy side of Duncan but sometimes I just wanted to strangle the both of them. This is another series that I feel gets better with each installment. I feel that both the writing and the storytelling improved. I thought the couple worked well together. However, the story didn’t wow me overall. It was a simple sweet read.

    Amazing

This one was amazing! I just adored Duncan and though Amber was his perfect match. In his past relationships he's always felt more like an ATM than a boyfriend. Tired of being used for his fame and money, he swears off women. Of course that doesn't last long. As soon as he meets Amber he knows she different. The more he tries with her though the more it seems she is pushing him away and he has no idea why. That is until he learns who her father is and how he has always treated Amber and her mother. With this understanding he starts working to slowly tear down the walls she has around her heart. A great story and while technically a "hockey romance", hockey really takes a backseat in this story. Definitely a book I recommend.

    Good fun story

3.5 stars. Its very rare that you read a book about an athlete where he isn't a man whore sleeping his way through town. Duncan is a really nice guy and due to this he was taken advantage of by his last girlfriend. When he meets Amber he has sworn off women but he doesn't keep that oath long because there is just something about Amber that he is attracted to. Amber has been making her own way for years. On top of that she has been helping pay her spendthrift mom's bills. She is working a part time job while also attending school and the last thing she wanted was for a pro athlete to hit on her. She doesn't agree with her mother's idea of finding a rich boyfriend so she tries to steer clear of Duncan. But can she give him a chance to get to know her and keep her secrets safe? I really liked this book. I thought there couldn't be a guy nicer than Marc from the last book but I can see why they are friends. Duncan is just a country boy that likes to play hockey. I really like how self reliant Amber was. A lot of times in books, the rich guys just throw money around but Amber was determined to not get accustomed to that lifestyle. She was keeping a secret but it really wasn't that bad and really only affected her and how people may perceive. We get more Lovey in this book and I LOVE her. I really like how the conflict was resolved and I must say in the back of my mind I saw that happening. If you want to read a book about a strong heroine and a good guy, this is the one for you. I cant wait to read the next book.
