    In Search of Father's Blessing

In Search of Father's Blessing - The Cry of a Lost Generation by Doug Stringer is a thought-provoking book. It is an in-depth look into a major problem plaguing society today, that of father's missing from the home. The author discusses the negative consequences of missing fathers, both natural and spiritual, on today's emerging generation. He tells story after story of the struggles of the young people he has met through his ministries and the power that a father figure mentor has to influence and change their lives for the better. It is also a challenge to the church at large to step up and be the mentor many of these young people desperately need in their lives today. This is a good book for church leaders and the body of Christ alike. It is also a good reading tool for parents. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Whitaker House through The Book Club Network, Inc., in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to leave a positive review.

    Honor releases blessing

In Search of a Father's Blessing by Doug Stringer is a thought-provoking and inspirational book. The author believes "that at the core of every problem we experience as an individual, a generation, and even as a nation is disconnection from a father. It's an issue of breach, an issue of broken trust." Beginning with that premise he continues on to describe the generational differences and the need for multigenerational relationships. Relationships that mimic that of a Heavenly Father, relationships that actualize identity through affirmation, acceptance, and approval. Relationships that have the give and take of technical knowledge and skill of the youth with that of personal touch and face-to-face connection of the older generation. With scriptural references, quotes from spiritual leaders in the body of Christ and with examples from his own life and others, Stringer teaches readers about leadership. A leadership that guides, guards and governs by example, with a strong foundation built on Jesus Christ and is one characterized by servanthood and going the extra mile. The author writes with humility and urgency to help readers recognize the need to be intentional with their faith so as to bring revival to the younger generation and stand with them. The cry of all mankind is to know a father's love and Stringer reminds readers of God's desire to adopt us into His recognize that He knows us by name. In Search of a Father's Blessing is an encouraging and yet impelling book that urges believers to know Who their Daddy is! I received a copy of this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review.
