  • Paranormal YA/NA Romance

In The Dark by Becca Fox Kidnapped, in the dark, in pain…Lindsay Whittaker assesses her situation. She is in a dark space with her brother, an ex-boyfriend and a couple of other people. Not knowing why they are there while feeling the pull of the moon that will require a shift in shape she is feeling rather tense. For some reason she is not taken with the rest of the people kidnapped, requests the aid of Wayne, a man important to her ten years before, and the two, with two people from his werewolf pack, head off to track down Lindsay’s brother and the rest of those that were kidnapped. Their action-packed quest is finally fulfilled but not without pain, suffering and loss experienced by not only those sold into slavery but also those searching for them. Lindsay has much to ponder as she considers her future. Is Avery (her ex) the man of her future or is Wayne a better match? How will she deal with the werewolf that she has tried to deny being? Wayne has known what he wanted for ten years and is out to win Lindsay to his side while Avery, too, would like to have Lindsay back again. This book is one that I believe will appeal to YA and perhaps NA readers. It is a paranormal romance filled with action, suspense and secrets. It is at times dark and not all of the characters have a happy ending. It is thought provoking while speaking of courage and strength to be found in adversity. It is a story of werewolves – good and bad. Should the author choose to do so this story would make an excellent first book in a series. Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4.5 Stars
