    In the quiet

Sudden death leaves a close and loving family floundering in the wake of unbearable grief. Unable to support them as in life, the watching spirit of the dead wife and mother anxiously traces their painful passage through the next few years until they find their footing, and the love and courage to move on. A beautiful book, full of warmth and understanding. The characters are engaging and believable, none more so than the teenagers whose emotions, conversations and relationships are written with conviction. Drawing on a lot of love and listening, the young Australian author has produced a remarkably assured first novel.

A very enjoyable and thought provoking read.

A very interesting take on relationships and how is often what we don't say that causes the most anguish and conflict in our lives. I loved the interaction with the horses and the details of life in a country town. ...and the Aussie reality. ..well worth reading.

    Tugs at the heartstrings

This book is beautiful and you really feel for the characters as they strugggle with their grief. Congratulations to the author, I cant believe this is her first novel.
