    Thanks for your feedback!

    Indian Summer

Two stars is a little harsh for this one, but I can't do 2 1/2 so I opted for the lower end. I really, really enjoy Aaron Mahnke's podcast, Lore, and didn't realize he had written books before that so I was excited to see what one would be like. I remember his Lore episode about Dogtown and was intrigued. The story itself was interesting and the first chapter hooked me into the story right away. It was as the book went along that I started to become less enchanted. The suspect was predictable and it was easy to see how the story would develop. It did retain some of the fantastic elements common in his podcast which I did hope for. It also doesn't sit well with me when I come across grammatical or spelling errors in a supposed edited and published work of writing. One example was the word 'slopped' used instead of the word 'sloped. There were a few other times when I noticed this happening and I find it very distracting and makes me wonder at the quality of the editing process. In the end, I was a little disappointed and found myself speeding through to finish it. I am hopeful for his other books and will give them a try regardless. And if the result is the same, I'll just stick to his Lore podcast and related books about that!
