    New Series

This is the first book in the Blood Secrets Saga by Alicia Anthony. It’s a very complex Paranormal Romance Suspense. Olivia Sullivan can see ghosts so when her grandmother comes to her she knows she’s gone. Ridge McCaffrey is undercover FBI sent in to spy on Olivia. There are so many secrets and lies going on. Lots of action keep you going until the end. Sometimes it’s a little hard to understand what’s going on but everything comes together in the end. There is a cliffhanger of sorts at the end so be warned. Overall I really liked this book and look forward to the next book.

    Missed the mark

I had a hard time connecting with the main characters. Additionally, the love story aspect seemed contrived and didn't ring true. Normally I am a fan of psychic mysteries but I didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to. I received a free copy and I am leaving my honest opinion.

    Breathtaking suspense

Reviewed by Susan Sewell for Readers' Favorite A California psychic is caught up in a web of lies, deceit, and murder when she returns to her Ohio home for her grandmother's funeral, in the spectacular suspense novel, Inherent Truth (Blood Secrets Book 1) by Alicia Anthony. From the age of ten, Olivia Sullivan understood she was different from everybody else. Beginning with her cousin's death, Liv began experiencing vivid dreams and visions. Unable to accept Liv's abilities, her mother takes her to doctors and medicates her. The only person who makes Liv feel accepted is her grandmother. After leaving college, Liv works for a psychic phone network. One afternoon, she receives a call from a client who threatens her life, and a vision of a woman's murder overtakes her. A couple of weeks later, her grandmother dies, and Liv flies home to Ohio. Visiting Liv in her dreams, her grandmother requests she help a small girl who eerily resembles Liv. In the meantime, someone breaks into her house and vandalizes it, leaving behind a decomposed body in a trunk. Is the dead woman connected to the girl in Liv's visions? Is she the next intended victim? Filled with subterfuge and intrigue, Inherent Truth (Blood Secrets Book 1) by Alicia Anthony is a breathtaking suspense novel enhanced with elements of parapsychology. The sensational story includes a thrilling storyline, a riveting plot, and distinctive characters. Switching between Liv's voice and the third person, the pacing of the story moves along remarkably well. It is an exceptional novel, and I recommend it to anyone who loves breathtaking suspense intertwined with a paranormal theme. It is the first book in a series, and I look forward to reading more of Ms. Anthony's work!

    Paranormal Romantic Suspense

Inherent Truth by Alicia Anthony Blood Secrets #1 Fabulous book! I could not put it down once I began reading and can’t wait for book two! Liv Sullivan has a gift...or curse...depends on who you ask. It caused friction between her parents and her safe place to land was on the Sullivan Farm owned by her grandparents. When her grandmother dies Liv heads home for the funeral and that opens the door to this story. There is definitely a mystery, some romance, bad guys to thwart, some dead found, family secrets that were stunning and a government program I am curious about. What I liked: * Liv – an intelligent, loving, giving woman who sees dead people and uses the gift when she can to help get justice for those she sees Ridge – conflicted and very by-the-book FBI man with trust issues but someone that could be very good with Liv...if he allows it to happen * Brian – I like him and think I might like his sister, Mel. I hope they will show up in the future * The secret hinted at dealing with Liv’s grandmother’s * All the twists and turns that made this story so good * The plan Liv has and where she will be heading in book two What I did not like: * Liv being thrown to the wolves * The bad guys * Not having all the mysteries figured out * Having to wait to read the next book in the series Did I like this book? Definitely! Will I read more in the series? As soon as I can! Thank you to NetGalley and Drury Lane Books for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars
