  • A brilliant psychological thriller

After reading the blurb for this book I was instantly captivated and I had to read this right away. Luckily I didn’t have to wait long and when I was approved to read an advanced copy, I dove straight in and devoured it in one sitting! Being a psychological thriller was a bonus as this is my favourite genre, but what drew me in more than anything was it’s use of incorporating the story as a podcast, which really fits perfectly with the public’s current appetite and fascination for these. A.M. Taylor has woven a thrilling tale, that is fundamentally about loyalty and how far one goes in proving the innocence of a family member convicted of murder. Told through alternating chapters via the “then and now” format, the reader is given a great insight into the past and the events that shape the present. As the podcast delves deeper into the mystery, shocking revelations are exposed which results in an explosive jaw dropping conclusion. The blurb gives just the right amount of a tease for me not to go any further in telling what the story is about. All of the characters for me were real and very believable, all have been written extremely well. The standout for me though, was definitely Olivia. Although not particularly close to her brother as teenagers as most twins are, there is still that unbreakable bond between them and her loyalty to him knows no bounds, proving his innocence becomes her obsession. I loved her determination in seeking out the truth no matter the cost. I really enjoyed A.M. Taylor’s writing style. When I read a book from an author that is new to me, sometimes it can take me a few chapters to connect with their style, but it was instantanious in this case. I also try and be one step ahead, but for this story I just let myself relax and I was completely immersed in it. Although I have read for some that the outcome was predictable, for me just trusting in A.M. and letting her take charge without me thinking about it, made the finale all the more thrilling. Innocent or Guilty is a chilling story that will have you gripped right from the get go and one where you will be taken on a wild ride full of twists and turns. It moves at the right pace where it builds suspense and tension along the way, before an explosive finale that will stay with you. I highly recommend this book and I look forward to more from A.M. Taylor. Thank-you to NetGalley, One More Chapter and A.M. Taylor for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Innocent or Guilty which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

  • Page Turner!

Page turner! Ethan Hall was convicted of killing a fellow student the summer of senior year. He has been in prison for ten years, claiming his innocence all along. His twin sister, Olivia, has spent those ten years fighting for his release, even going as far as going to law school. An opportunity arises for Ethan's case to be reviewed on a Crime Podcast, with the hope of getting a retrial to prove Ethan is innocent. When people start talking, lies are uncovered, people's true characters revealed, and the reader is left guessing who could have possibly killed Tyler. This was a fantastic thriller, filled with so many twists and turns that I couldn't put it down, right up until the last page. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

  • Loved!!!!!

Wow, wow, wow!!! I am speechless. A.M. Taylor is my new favorite author. This is the first book I read by this author and it was fantastic. I haven’t read a book this good in a long time. This book was about a brother and sister bond that could never be broken in the end. Olivia now a lawyer is desperate to get her brother out of jail for a murder he did not commit ten years earlier. She uses a famous podcast team to search for the truth on who killed Tyler Washington. In the end she does finally find some justice for herself and her brother. I want to start off by saying that I love the way the author uses the past and present to tell the story. It really helps the reader to truly understand what happened in the past and to connect it to the present. I absolutely loved this book. I thought all of it worked so well together. The characters and the plot flowed so well. I couldn’t believe all the twists and turns in this book. It was like a roller coaster ride that I never wanted to get off from. As each chapter went on I couldn’t take it, I needed more and more. I devoured each page like it was the last. Oh boy the ending was a shock as well. I couldn’t believe who really did it and why. There were some clues throughout but I still couldn’t believe it. What a great ending to a great book. Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Great read!

Olivia's twin brother has served over 9 years in prison for murder. Olivia is convinced he is innocent and appeals to the producers of a true crime TV show to investigate the crime. Inconsistencies are quickly revealed in the case, and the reporters and Olivia question the town's residents. Who knows what really happened that night? Was there a cover-up? Will Olivia's brother be released from prison? There are lots of twists and turns in this thriller!
