    Thanks for your feedback!

A great no-nonsense intro to Puppet

We should have more books like this one: it doesn't pretend to be a "Bible" (read: is not an incoherent and way too long version of the vendor's documentation), and resists to be a 500-pages long "Nutshell" that's anything but. If, like me, you've been thrown into a hugely complex deployment and need to make sense of it, this book is a life saver: it gives you the basics, the general model, the big picture and bird's eye view -- the context for the stuff you see in the third level of includes. And also gives you an opportunity to do what the title promises -- instantly start a deployment from scratch, if you need it (or just want to do it as a practice). I've been deciphering long Puppet configurations for the last two weeks and this book in an hour cleared up more of my doubts and answered more questions than the online documentation did since I started. I would recommend it to anyone intertested in Puppet. Even though the current version is 4.x, the basics mostly stayed the same.
