    Loved it

I really loved this story. It was great to see bad boy Jaxson Reed work to change his ways and make up for his past indiscretions to his teammates. He's still a bit of an ass at the beginning but once he meets Bristol he knows he wants to be a better man. Jaxson and Bristol seem to be doomed from the beginning but Jaxson won't give up thank goodness. I really liked these two together and I couldn't help but cheer for them throughout the book. This is the 9th of the series but all these books are easily read standalone. I highly recommend this one.

    Good addition to this series

So I read Defending Hayden (which came a couple of books before this one) and while I liked it, I didn’t love it. There were some issues for me with the insta-love and how the characters reacted to it. The rest of the story, including the suspense element, worked well but the actions of the characters kept me from being fully vested. But I definitely remember Jax and when I saw that he got a story I just had to read it. Jax has done some very bad things for some very stupid reasons but he’s working to be a better teammate and friend. Although he still slips up occasionally :) Like when he meets a hot girl at a restaurant bar only to realize that she knows his rival on the team. Yeah … too hard for him to resist! But time spent with Bristol quickly has him rethinking his plans to use her against his teammate. She’s sexy, smart and fun, and the one-night stand king quickly finds himself thinking of a future with her. Like with the previous book these two fell in love just a tiny bit too quickly for my taste. They barely spent any time together at all before they started thinking long term but once again if you set that aside the rest of the story is really enjoyable. The parts with Jax’s stalker are obvious but that doesn’t stop it from working well with the rest of the story. Not one of my top stories but definitely an enjoyable read. And readers who have liked the other books in the series will absolutely love this one too. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

    ok sports read

Intended for Bristol is sports love book and it is second in the series. In this on the previous villain becomes a hero. Jax change his way and falls in love in the teammate sister. But lying is never good for any relationship and not even in these one. I must say that I’m surprised to find out those teammates doesn’t get along very well and that NFL players are so arrogant a big turn off for me. Jax changes in this one and is great to see him fight for Bristol. Bristol is not some special Heroin. Beautiful, successful young woman who is prepare to fight for her love. All in all predictable interesting sport story with suspenseful twist. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

    Amazing!

I went into this book not liking Jax very much so there was going to have be a lot of redemption needed for me to root for him. In the beginning, I thought redemption might be a stretch but maybe I could like him a little bit. It takes a talented author to turn a hated character into a loved one, and this author is definitely that talented. By the time this book was finished, I loved Jax! Jaxon Reed is the kicker for the Carolina Cougars. While he may be the best in the league, he's more well-known and hated for his antics off the field. When a new quarterback joins the team with his own bad reputation, Jax is determined to take him down a peg. Bristol Thomas is determined to become the best interior designed in North Carolina and she has zero interest in dating game-playing athletes. When Jax breaks through Bristol's walls, he'll do whatever it takes to stay in her life. I loved this story so much, which was definitely a surprise since I didn't like Jax at all when I started the book. I was great to meet the man behind the bad behavior. Jax is a devoted family man and dedicated friend. Bristol is strong and fights for what she wants and deserves. These two were perfect for each other. The suspense of Jax's stalker kept me on the edge of seat, hoping everyone came out ok. I'm hoping the rest of the Cougars get to have their story told!! *This is my voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy*
