    Fun read

I really enjoyed this book and how it pulled together a couple of different story lines. We got to see some of the newer couples find their hea and we finally see Bo and Nyx get married:)

    Two for One!

"Into the Darkness" by Katie Reus. Book 5 in the Darkness series. Two for one! Two love stories wrapped up into one excellent book. At first I thought this book was going to be two separate novellas but it's not. Both stories blended really well with each other. The main romantic couple is Conall and Rhea. The second couple is Rory and Liberty, who were just introduced into the series in the last book "Hunted by Darkness." The story starts 8 months after the last book. Someone is targeting the Stavros wolf Pack and somehow this person is connected to Rhea. The only person that knows about her past is her Alpha, Finn. It's a terrible time to be dealing with this when good friends, Bo and Nyx, are getting married. But on the plus side, Rhea gets to see Conall, Alpha of the Petronilla dragon clan. Since she met him months ago, they've had a friendly relationship but she can't help think of wanting something more with him. But she just can't be responsible for the death of another male which is what she fears if her and Conall were to take their relationship to the next level. Conall knew that Rhea was his mate the first time he saw her but she's not ready to have a relationship. But Conall is a patient dragon and has been taking it slow with Rhea. When Conall finds out that someone is after Rhea, he's not waiting any longer. He'll do anything he has to to make sure that Rhea is safe....and his. Half demon half wolf shifter, Rory, helped rescue the human female, Liberty, from a Hell realm months ago and he's been looking after her ever since. After what she's been through, she's on the road to recovery and he thinks she's the strongest, most intelligent, most beautiful female he's ever met. But he doesn't want to push her into a relationship she's not ready for. But he knows that Liberty is his and he'll wait for her for as long as it takes for her to accept him as her mate. Liberty never knew paranormal creatures existed until she was kidnapped and held prisoner in a Hell realm. And she couldn't believe a demon/wolf-shifter saved her. Rory has been taking care of her ever since...even sleeping with her....in his wolf form, to make sure she's safe. She definitely not ready for a physical relationship after what happened to her but Rory is the first man...male...she's even thought about in an intimate way. Can she take the next step in their relationship? Or will he leave after he gets her out of his system? She doesn't know anything about the supernatural world, least of all how mating really works. I loved this book! The overall story plot of who's trying to attack the Stavros Pack was a great background for the romance of both couples. Conall and Rhea's chemistry is flirty and hot. Roen and Liberty's chemistry simmers beautifully and sensually throughout the story and is really heartwarming. The culmination of the overall story plot is a little anticlimactic but it actually makes sense and doesn't take away anything from the story. Absolutely loved this book and I can't wait to read the next one! The epilogue leaves you with a bit of a teaser as to who the next book will be about. Loved it!

    Loved it

When I read the blurb for this, I thought it was two separate stories. It's one but tells the stories of two separate couples, Rhea and Conall and Rory and Liberty. I was a little disappointed but it all goes together so smoothly. Rhea is a wolf shifter and a warrior. Conall is an Alpha dragon shifter and has his own clan. He has known Rhea was his mate since he first meet her. But Rhea had a bad past and doesn't want to mate but she can't help the pull she feels towards Conall. Liberty is human but was kidnapped and taken to the Hell realm where she was raped repeatedly. Rory is half wolf half demon and helped rescue Liberty. It's taken eight months, but she is getting stronger and very attracted to Rory. He doesn't want to scare her, so he takes it slow because he knows she's his mate and he'll do anything to keep her safe. Plenty of sexual tension. Fire breathing dragons. Wolves, demons, and parties galore. What bothered me was a couple of times they would go back a couple of months and then back to present. The story is very well written and you see characters from earlier books. I laughed and can't wait for next book. *RECEIVED A COPY FROM NETGALLEY*

    Into The Darkness...

Katie Reus never fails to bring us an exciting and entertaining story. In INTO THE DARKNESS we get TWO stories! The characters are brilliant, the writing is brilliant. The alpha males are stubborn and sexy. The females are strong and fierce. I loved every word of it and I highly recommend any of the authors books. ***I was gifted an eBook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***

    Into the Darkness

During a week of wedding festivities, two couples fight for their chance at happily ever after when an unknown enemy targets the Stavros Pack in this spectacular paranormal romance. Rhea is a warrior and she’s not looking for a mate, but Conall, Alpha of the Petronilla clan is playing for keeps and after being saved from a Hell realm, Liberty’s worried that she’s too broken for a relationship and Rory’s not sure what it will take to move from friendship to more but he’s willing to wait forever if that’s what it takes. Readers can’t help but get caught up in all the excitement happening during Nyx and Bo’s wedding festivities as everyone parties and fights for happiness. As always the characters in the Darkness world are strong, charismatic and easily capture readers’ attention and in this story you get triple the romance and happiness as Bo and Nyx get married, Conall tries to convince Rhea that she is the mate of an Alpha and Rory patiently helps Liberty overcome the trauma she suffered, another words there is plenty of emotional turmoil flowing from the pages right along with the excitement and sizzling passion in this fast paced, smooth flowing plot that keeps readers on the edge of their seat. Just as the festivities get started, danger comes calling and the pack discovers that an unknown enemy has targeted their territory which adds adrenaline pumping excitement and spine tingling suspense to the story as the pack work to discover the who and the why while trying to keep everyone safe which has the readers glued to the pages as the well written scenes, full of vivid details brings all the excitement to life. The Stavros Pack keeps things lively that’s for sure, there was a few surprises and lots of danger and passion throughout the story with the two simultaneous stories adding to the spice and complexity. I was in no way ready for the festivities to end, hopefully it won’t be too long before I can visit the Stavros Pack again.
