    Island in the East

Loved all the characters in this brilliantly written love story set in the British Colony of Singapore during WW II. Some scenes were real tear jerkers, they were so vividly portrayed.

    fortitude, solitude, magnitude

A story of should haves, would haves and could haves. So sad. So true. So happy. So painful. So rewarding.

    Great read

I had read the previous book Beneath a Burning Sky and really enjoyed it. So was glad when there was another book to read. It kept me engrossed on my train rides to and from work, and I couldn’t wait to pick it up. The two stories merging into one had some really good twists and had you thinking which way it would turn out. The story with Mae and Harriett was intriguing and surprising at the end. Highly recommend and cannot wait for the next book.

    Island in the east

I loved reading about the war in the east and how it affected the colonials posted there, as well as the story of the twin sisters. The ending certainly came as a surprise. Very well written. I could not put it down.
