  • Lots of action and drama to keep you engaged

Jenner is headed to Kentucky to check on Sisco, another retired war dog. Kellie runs the B&B where Jenner will be staying until he finds Sisco. While Jenner is in Ashland, he plans to try and meet up with his ex-wife. He is looking for closure after everything went sour with his ex. Kellie is trying to avoid becoming more gossip fodder for the small-minded people in town. The local townsfolk have long memories, and are pretty tough on Kellie over becoming a single Mom as a teenager. A wild pack of dogs are making a nuisance of themselves, and make Jenners job of retrieving Sisco harder, thanks to the small minded Sheriff of the town, who just happens to be the grandfather of Kellies son. Lots of action and drama to keep you engaged, and up all night reading. Love this series!

  • Lots Of Emotion & Tension

This was another very enjoyable entry for this series. There is plenty of emotion and tension as Jenner and Kellie's story unfolds. I thought that there was a raw genuineness to this story that made it super easy to relate to and that means the heartstring tugging is major. I really liked these two both as individuals and as a couple. A great read! This is my impartial, elective review.

  • Jenner, His War Dog, and the Animal Loving Lady

I have read all of The K-9 Files and each one is better than the previous one. Jenner volunteers to locate the War Dog Sisco. In the meantime he encounters obstacles and protectors and an ex. Slow and steady, in finding the missing dog and his lady love. Unexpected twists and journeys. Love the K-9 series and the vets who save the warrior dogs. Bravo!!. • Jenner

I love these War Dog stories! This story is heart-wrenching in so many ways. Jenner has unresolved issues with his ex-wife, Laura, who divorced him without a reason why; the War Dog he was sent to do a welfare check on, Sisco, is lost and being hunted by the local sheriff; Kellie, the Bed & Breakfast owner, where Jenner is staying, has a neighbor she has only seen once and it didn’t go well because of his unfriendly dogs, Jenner is trying to get the details on that; and there are mean, wild, dogs on the loose. What a fantastic puzzle this is! I love how the build-up for this story is exciting and suspenseful. The initial interaction between Jenner and Kellie is sweet. He jumps right in to check into the neighbor situation only to find out that the neighbor Kellie had a unfavorable run in with is not her real neighbor but a squatter and a thief. Jenner quickly becomes protective of Kellie and her B&B’s isolation from the town when he finds Jim, the real neighbor, beaten and left to die in a field behind his ancestral home. I support Jenner for his feelings about the manner in which his ex-wife divorced him. He has years of anger and confusion on his conscience to work through while dealing with the wild dog situation and finding Sisco before he is killed by mistake. I was impressed with Jenner’s take charge attitude in helping Jim by looking after his house while Jim was in the hospital and his future rehabilitation needs. I appreciate Kellie’s determination to make her B&B prosper despite the town’s long memory of her youth and reputation. I dutifully dislike Laura and her haughty attitude towards Kellie’s B&B and for thinking she doesn’t need to come clean to Jenner as to why she divorced him. I love Jenner’s slow approach to Sisco to get his trust, but fate intervenes when Sisco jumps to protect both Jenner and Kellie against the wild dog bent on attack. This is such a well-written and satisfying story. The course of the War Dog’s experience and his future is perfectly laid out. Jenner and Kellie are definitely destined to be together. I love every bit of this!
