    Joyland

I have been struggling so bad lately, that it isn’t even funny. Some things I don’t want to talk about here just yet (but they are definitely good things!). The struggle has been for me to find a novel that I can actually get into. I have picked up so many and put them down again after 10 or so pages. By the time this novel arrived from Thriftbooks.com, I had almost given up hope due to my deteriorating attention span. However, King managed to do it again, he pulled me and and kept me there happily. I had a hard time putting this book down and would often find myself struggling to stay awake just to figure out what was going to happen next. The novel is well written, it takes place in South Carolina at an old time, small amusement park named Joyland. The main character is Devin Jones, a college student who goes away to work for the summer. He hears about a murder that happened at Joyland and becomes obsessed with seeing the victims ghost. I really don’t want to give to much away about this novel, but it does NOT disappoint. It’s about growing up, moving on, wanting to see something you believe in, wanting to make a change in your life, it’s about hurt, love, loss and doing what is best for you.

    Good but Sad

I really enjoyed this book. It definitely isn't a horror story. The story is well written and pulls you into it. You know how it will end, but it is incredibly sad anyway.

Great story that keeps you reading way after you should be putting it away and getting back to the chores of the day

    Interesting

Stephen King has been a favorite author of mine since forever. I appreciate his detail and authentic touch, especially with Joyland. Thank you Mr. King, this book was a great read.
