  • Review....Just one Night

Linc Kingston and Jordan Greene have the perfect relationship. He is her boss, she is his PA and they have also been best friends from a young age. That is it....or at least that is how Linc feels it has to be. They are from completely different upbringing and not just that but neither of them would want to risk their friendship. That all changes with an unplanned night of passion which leads to shock pregnancy, something neither one of them quite know how to handle. What is not to love with a story of a domineering, bossy man and a woman who has the capacity to bring him to his knees. Great, lovable lead characters and an insight into the rest of Lincs family who will no doubt be getting their own story.

  • Great start to a new series

5 Star Review Just One Night (The Kingston Family #1) by Carly Phillips I was excited when I learnt that Carly Phillips had a new series coming out. If Just One Night is anything to go by then she is off to a flying start. This is Linc Kingston and Jordan Greene’s friends to lovers story and it was an entertaining read that ticked the boxes for me. Working as Linc’s assistant Jordan has always had feelings for him but refuses to put their friendship on the line by pursuing it. When his father dies suddenly, Linc’s life is thrown into turmoil, not least of which is finding out about a half sister he knew nothing about. However with Jordan by his side he knows he will get through everything. I really loved the friendship between these two. They have been friends since childhood and I loved that the economic status played no part in how Linc treated Jordan. Neither Linc or Jordan knew that the other had feelings for one another but all it takes is one night to change the course of a person’s life and that’s what happens for Linc and Jordan. This was a story that was emotional at times, particularly with the baggage that Linc carries from his father but it was the love, friendship and unwavering support that Linc and Jordan shared that was s heartwarming. I loved this story, from the first chapter to the last and cannot wait to see what Carly Phillips has in store for the rest of the Kingston family.

  • Linc and Jordan welcome you to the Kingston Family

This is the first book in The Kingston Family series and once again this author has just entranced me with Linc and Jordan and the rest of the characters contained within these pages. There is so much going on and the feelings evoked, will have you staying seated until the final word because this book is just that good. Some of the trials that the characters face, are based in real life occurrences that may have readers empathizing. Linc is a man who comes from wealth but is not without his demons as he grew up with a father who would not win any awards. Jordan is the daughter of the woman who used to work in Linc’s family household. As she grew up with Linc and his brothers, she became his best friend. Not without her own life experiences, Jordan had to deal with some hard choices but the one constant in her life was Linc. The chemistry between Linc and Jordan is hotter than an active volcano but because of their “best friends” status, neither one is willing to risk making a more permanent change to something more. However, sometimes accidents in life happen and decisions will have to be made. Can two people who come from completely different worlds find a way to be together? Overall, this is one emotional, drama filled journey and I for one cannot wait until the next book!

  • Awesome start to this new series!

Just One Night is the first book in Carly Phillips new Kingston Family series and it's going to be a good one! If you have read Carly's book Dare to Stay from the Dare Nation series, you've met our leading man, Linc Kingston. If not, no worries, this reads well as a stand alone as well. Linc Kingston comes from a wealthy family and he works in the family business. When his father dies unexpectedly, he uncovers the fact that he has a half sister that none of the rest of them knew about. His father had left her in the foster care system even knowing she was there, so Linc wants to find her and make sure she knows she has a family who wants to know her. Knowing he has to make a trip to Florida to meet his new sister, Aurora, he doesn't want to go alone so he turns to his bestie and personal assistant, Jordan. Jordan Greene grew up with Linc as her mother was his family housekeeper. Since the two have been close for so much of her life, Jordan's mom had always warned her that their class could cause an issue and she didn't want her getting hurt. While Jordan has always wanted to be more than best friends with Linc, she never thought it would actually happen. She was happy being around him daily and working for him as his personal assistant. There isn't anyone that knows him better. When the two travel to Miami together, the spark and connection between them is undeniable and things end up happening. For two people that weren't ever planning to act on the attraction they were both feeling, will their friendship grow stronger or will these two end up farther apart? I really enjoyed the friendship and how the relationship between Linc and Jordan unfolded. You could tell how much they care about each other and I loved that Linc was the kind of guy that was willing to fight for what he wanted regardless of what others might think. I'm very intrigued by the Kingston family and the set up for the next book has me wanting more now! Pick this one up, it's a great read!

  • Great!

This was a short story that reads like a full length novel. It has some drama, unexpected twists and turns, surprise relationships and babies and even a little glimpse into the next story. Loved Linc and Jordan even though I had a hard time with her at certain times. She really needed a wake up call but I understood her hesitation. I also love how we get some visits from the Dare family and loved seeing them crossover into this. It was funny, sweet, sexy, and exactly what I needed.
