    Another Winner!

I don't know how Susan Stoker keeps these amazing books coming, but she does. After each one I say "That's my favorite!" Well, this has to be my favorite so far! Her plots always have substance and suck you in. I didn't want to put the book down AT ALL! Sleep? Ha! Not when a new SS book comes out! JFB is all about Hayden and Boone. I was so happy to see that the hero was a mature male dealing with a serious issue that many people don't think about...male domestic violence. Susan wrote the story eloquently and showed this type of abuse from a different angle. Hayden is the officer who comes to Boone's home since his ex-girlfriend is PSYCHO!!! Like totally cukoo! Poor Boone! What that poor man went through and stuck to his convictions made me root for him even more!! The heroine, Hayden, is a total kicka$$. She's a Deputy and doesn't take crap from anyone. She is considered one of the boys and not until you get a bit into the story do you really get what that means. Her story, which is interwoven into Boone's, is just as heartbreaking. I was so happy that Hayden found Boone and Boone found Hayden. The story was not just all lovey dovey, but had substance. You will not regret reading this book and hey, if you love it as much as I do, she had a ton of other AMAZING books for you to read!

    My new favorite!

I am a huge fan of Susan Stoker. This book is a great example of why! I definitely give it 5 stars!! Justice for Boone has a bit of a different spin in that the big strong alpha dude is the one who is ends up needing rescued. Cowboy Boone Fletcher is in a bit of a pickle when we meet him. His ex-girlfriend (who doesn't accept the ex part of things) has accused Boone of hitting her. Enter Sherriff's Deputy Hayden Yates. The interest between our main characters sparks. Hayden draws negative attention from the ex for uncovering the truth behind her accusations. Boone is quite dismissive of his ex's actions even when her behavior escalates to stalking. Can Hayden get Boone to understand the seriousness of the situation before it's too late?? You'll have to read to find out!!

    Heroine Saves Hero!

I loved how the author portrayed Boone in this book as being a victim of domestic abuse, yet still retained his alpha, tough guy person. His only fault was he refused to hit a woman under any circumstance! I agree with Hay in the book, sometimes a woman needs to be cold-cocked! There are those kinds of people out there! The way Boone was written, he was attracted to Hay from the start and willing to do what it took to keep her safe, even though she was the one who carried the gun! Hayden was great as a tough sheriff's deputy while still have a feminine side that Boone was able to see, even though others missed it! The tease at the end with Crash...sigh!

    Amazing characters!!!

Another hit for Susan Stoker! Tackling the issue of domestic violence and with these specific circumstances was done brilliantly. Boone couldn't be more of a manly man and Hayden may be small but she's definitely mighty. They sure make a beautiful pair. These two were burnin' up the pages in this well written story line with all these amazingly well developed characters. BRAVO! I can't wait to see what's next for this fabulous author. Received a copy via RockStarLit in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.
