    Great Romantic Suspense Series!

I read these books separately, not in the boxed version but I loved them all! Here are my reviews: The Chase (Book 1) This is the first in the Justifiable Cause series. I love Adrienne’s snappy dialogue and this book contains plenty of it! Added to that, you’ve got a hot cop and sassy, determined lawyer – what better combination! It is the story of counterfeited goods (purses, watches, etc.) and the mystery just begins in this book. So, if you want to find out what happens, you’ll need to read all 3 books. I can’t wait to start The Evasion – book #2! The Evasion (Book 2) Adrienne ramps up the suspense in this second part of the Justifiable Cause series. In this book, Jo and Gabe travel to the South to find and (hopefully) capture their quarry. I enjoyed the growing relationship and the suspense at the end kept me on the edge of my seat! Looking forward to reading the final book in the series – The Capture! The Capture (Book 3) Great ending to a fun series! The action continued in the 3rd installment of the Justifiable Cause series. Jo and Gabe travel to the west coast to continue their campaign against counterfeit trafficking and the suspense continued! I enjoyed how the story was wrapped up and there was more nail-biting danger for them and, judging by the title, you might be able to guess what happens in the end! I’ve enjoyed the series very much and look forward to reading other books by the author.

What a ride full of thrills, a few chills, action

The Chase This is book one of a three part series that is full of action, a few chills and some downright horrors. Here we meet attorney Joanna and Sergeant Townsend who keep us entertained throughout as they team together on the mayor's special task force to stop illegal counterfeit fashion that is taking over the city. What do you get when you have two strong willed people that are attracted to each other but seem only to be able to irritate the other as they buttheads? You get one highly entertaining read that keeps the reads smiling and at times laughing as they go head to head to chase down counterfeiters only to be found on the receiving end of danger. Jo demands to be on all the busts, the hunt and the catcher only to find the counterfeits have her in their sites leaving Gabe pulling his hair out and talking to his self. Gabe has never met a woman more frustrating or sexier that is slowing driving him to drink. As the author spends us through the twists and turns, the hunt is on bring more danger than Joanna ever expected. With Gabe hot on her tail trying his best to keep his eyes off her sexy backside and out of danger. This is one strong, sassy, sexy bullheaded woman who will not listen to reason. Joanna doesn’t understand why one sexy bullheaded sergeant won’t listen to reason and is always trying to keep her away from the thrilling excitement that comes with each bust. That is until the day she gets in over her head and leaves her at deaths door. The Evasion This is the second book in the Justifiable Cause series which picks up right where the last one left off with Gabe and Jo hot on the trail of the counterfeiter which have moved to South Carolina. They are having a hard time keeping their relationship under wraps. Taking a trip to hopefully bring the counterfeiters down, as they go to a new town they loosen up a little and enjoy their time together. Trying to play it by the rules until the suspect the sheriff might be a part of the counterfeiter ring. With their jobs and relationship on the line they try their best to keep their love life and profession life separate. As the stakes get high and this becomes a life or death matter will they be able to keep the two divided? At times this was full of suspense that held you on the edge as these two go head to head matching passion as well as tempters. It was very entertain keeping me glued to the pages to see what would happen next. When I hit chapter nine the author turned on the humor. I have to admit I totally lost as laughed myself silly. At one point my husband gave me that look that said CAN YOU TURN IT DOWN. Humm I guess not when the next sentences kept me rolling with tear almost in my eyes. I have learned a woman should never leave home without her shoes! The Capture This is the end to a three part series that is full of action you are going to love it. Jo is in LA helping set up a counterfeiter task force. Gabe comes to visit taking a long overdue vacation. Jo and Gabe relationship has always been behind closed door neither wanting the fallout it would bring to those they work for. In LA they are free to let it grow building a united front as they work toward bring justice to major companies who lose billions of dollars a year to counterfeiters. On her way to the airport to pick up Gabe she decides to kill some time and do some shopping for some counterfeit items which gets her in more trouble than she ever expect leaving Gabe again trying to protect her and keep her alive. The story starts with fast pace action we see the dangers of being in the wrong place at the wrong time leaving both Gabe and Jo seeing more action then they bargained for. Captured really kept me hanging on the edge with a story I could not put down. I loved this series, this one would be my favorite of the three books. Although some of the series can be read as standalone to get the full impact of what their job is and their relationship you will want to read them all. Separate they are wonderful reads too together they are outstanding. This is a series that will hold your attention giving you one heck of a ride as you hold your breath wondering if they will make it out of this last story alive. There is some touch and go scenes that keep this a page turner from the first page to the last. If you are looking for an outstanding action pack thrilling read this will give you the suspense you crave. It is well written with delightful characters that pull you in demanding and holding your attention.

    Sex and smuggling

THE CHASE Jo Pomeroy is an intellectual property attorney, and she has been working closely with Sergeant Gabe Townsend on Operation Clean Sweep, trying to rid New York City of counterfeiting, Jo’s clients would like to see end. Gabe and Jo are both ambitious, strong-willed, and alphas: they work well together, but they get royally get on each other’s nerves. And the sexual tension simmering between them doesn’t help! But Jo is reckless and her determination to find the smugglers endangers them both. While Jo and Gabe start off butting heads, they end up butting more than that! THE CHASE is fast-paced, and I love how I got to experience NYC police work, and Gabe’s rough day-to-day profession. The characters are well defined, the story interesting because the subjects were thoroughly researched by the author. Not everyone will agree with me here, but I found Gabe’s sexual obsession with Jo, especially at the beginning, a bit tiring; I would have preferred to dive right in the suspense part and experience fewer remarks on Jo’s legs and (fake) boobs; but this is a quirk of mine. But when the story really takes off, it’s great! It was nice to see a strong woman not become a dishrag when faced with the likes of “Mr. August” (Gabe, who is rather hot!). Although THE CHASE is part one in the Justifiable Cause series, it does not end on a cliffhanger that will make you angry! THE EVASION Part two of the Justifiable Cause series THE EVASION picks up 6 weeks after book one, and I was surprised that it could be read as a standalone; Ms. Giordano supplies enough information that a new reader to the series wouldn’t be completely lost. As Jo and Gabe finally acknowledged their attraction and acted on it, I found things a bit more relaxed. Their quest for the counterfeiting smugglers takes them to South Carolina, where things get prickly. I really liked THE EVASION, it’s more my style; it focuses more on the suspense angle than Gabe’s obsession with Jo’s body parts; it’s a really exciting episode, and on the third instalment and conclusion! THE CAPTURE Their quest to catch counterfeiting smugglers now takes NYPD Sergeant Gabe Townsend and attorney Jo Pomeroy to Los Angeles. Jo cannot stay out of trouble, but this time it’s not entirely her fault. When she happens to identify a murder suspect, things get out of control fast, and this time it’s Gabe who gets himself in a pickle. What do bikers have to do with counterfeiters of high-end products? Read THE CAPTURE to find out! Although it is the third and final instalment of the Justifiable Cause series, Ms. Giordano gives enough details about the whole story arc that THE CAPTURE can be read as a standalone. I received complimentary copies of these books in exchange for an honest review.

    Exciting Adventure!

The Chase: Gabe and Joanna are on a task force to track down counterfeit merchandise for one of Jo’s clients (she is an attorney). They are both determined, driven, and want things to run their way. Problem is, neither of them will back down. The story was very interesting to me because it isn’t a common plot that I have run across, so I was engrossed in the story from the beginning. When you throw in two strong personalities, a few bad guys and a lot of great dialogue between the main characters, you have an entertaining story that is hard to put down. Adrienne does a really good job of setting up this series. I look forward to reading more about Gabe and Jo and watching them navigate this relationship of theirs while they try to bring down the one of the biggest smuggling operations of counterfeit merchandise in New York. I highly recommend The Chase to anyone looking for a fun, witty, romantic suspense read! The Evasion: As the follow up to The Chase, I can tell you that The Evasion had me even more engaged. I love following the same main characters in a series and getting to know Jo and Gabe even more was quite the treat. Watching them work together since they have acknowledged their attraction for one another was icing on the cake! While I recommend reading The Chase first, you could still pick this one up and enjoy it. The Capture: After reading an early copy of this, I have to say, it is the best of the series! I absolutely loved watching Jo and Gabe's relationship continue to move forward in this one. I also enjoyed the suspense aspect and wrap up of the series. It all ended great in my opinion! If you like romantic suspense, give this series a try.
