  • Excellent Resource

In a world of “How To” books that claim to have all the answers for writers anxious to be published, Mark Leslie Lefebvre’s Killing it on Kobo actually does have the answers, at least for those interested in publishing on the digital platform of Kobo. Written in a conversation style, and organized by topic, the book can be consumed cover to cover or by cherry-picking areas of interest. The author shares his own experiences (what worked and what didn’t, which is refreshing!) as well as those of other authors. Charts and graphs amplify explanations, and the last chapter includes links to blog posts and other resources. Easy to read, the book is chockful of useful information that I have already begun to implement, and I will definitely retain it in my resource library. I also appreciate the author’s encouragement that success often comes slowly, but to continue the journey to publication. Highly recommended.

  • This opened my eyes!

As an emerging author myself, Mark's book really opened my eyes to the power and reach of publishing on Kobo. I had tried Kobo for a while a year ago and it went nowhere for me, mostly because I didn't have the knowledge and experience to make a successful jump to publishing wide. I left for a while in favour of exclusivity elsewhere, thinking that might be the solution to success. It wasn't. Instead, it was a race to the bottom. I returned to Kobo because of their human approach, which is so important. They really do care. Thanks to Mark and this book, I can see all my previous mistakes and know about the details I missed on my first go around. It's time to apply my new-found knowledge and "kill it" on Kobo! :)

  • A goldmine of information

I've been publishing on Kobo for a few years, have attended several of Mark's talks and panels, and I still learned new tricks with this book. Highly recommended for self-publishers at any stage of their careers.
