    Fascinating

Comes from wayyyyyy off left-field. Surprises after surprises, I love that fiction can sometimes examine cultural implications, and personal behaviours, and make you think! Loved it, made me think outside the box.

Great writing! Thea Harrison has not disappointed me yet. I, unlike others, have always loved Aryal. Getting to know her and Quentin was a fun journey.

    Kinked

Ayral and Quentin are fighting like cats and dogs. Dragos finally gets tired of their tantrums and banishes them from New York for at least 2 weeks. They must put their differences aside and work together to complete a mission or their hard-earned sentinel positions will be given to the next strongest Wyr in line. Can Ayral and Quentin put their hatred aside and do the jobs they’ve fought so hard to get, or will their tumultuous animosity destroy everything around them, including each other? Quentin is racked with guilt over mistakes that nearly cost a dear friend their life and as a start on the road to absolution; he competed and won a place as one of Dragos’s sentinels. During his journey through the book, he finds that his guilt is misplaced and that he should look forward instead of dwelling on past transgressions. Aryal is such a hard ass, it was nice to see her show emotion and have feelings. I was surprised watching her feelings of hopelessness experiencing devastating injuries that may ground her harpy for good. As she lost her focus, Quentin stepped in to keep her centered. It was really great to watch their hate transform into something strong and unbending. I have to admit, I didn’t think they would ever be civil to each other. I really enjoyed watching two dominant characters try to deal with the sexual attraction and how they learned to compromise in submitting to each other 15 minutes at a time. The directness of Aryal’s sexual predilections kind of threw me a bit. I understand why this book is entitled, “Kinked.” Aryal and Quentin are both super freaks. Don’t believe me? Read the book. My favorite scenes are with Dragos, Pia and their newborn Liam, aka the Peanut. They’ve always been my favorite couple in the series. I really enjoyed watching them settling into parenthood. And even though Dragos is a dad now, he’s still shows that he is the biggest baddest Power in the Wyr demesne as well as the world. The book was action-packed from start to finish. While their HEA is a little unconventional, it works for Quentin and Aryal. ***I received a paperback copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***
