    A super enjoyable quick read

I loved this cute, quick read. The story was smart, funny, and endearing. Anna is a charming mix of smart, awkward, and self aware that makes her confusion over Luca feel realistic. The fact that we learn that Luca is also confused and working through some self doubt somehow makes him more attractive. They feel like a believable couple that I wish I could read more about.

    Swoon

Another fantastic heroine by Penny Reid, one that those who read smart romance can relate to. For those that read it piecemeal in her newsletter the added scenes are swoon worthy...and all this with proceeds going to a good cause!

In love with Russian literature and each other

How could I not love a book that talks about the murder of talent in Russia, that argues that Anna Karenina wouldn’t have killed herself had she been more self-assured, that makes you want to read War and Peace again. Considering how the protagonists, Anna and Luca, identify with the tragic characters of Russian literature, Kissing Tolstoy is a surprisingly light-hearted romance brimming with ideas about art, literature and the joy of reading.

    Short but fun

This novella was too short for the story to be as elaborate as usual for a book by Penny Reid, but it was often funny.
