    Lady of Devices

This is absolutely the best book I have read in forever. I can't wait to go on to the rest of the books in the series!

    An excellent Steampunk novel!

This is one of the better Steampunk novels I've read in a while! With its beginning in a finishing school where the main character is more adept at the chemistry of war rather than the chemistry of a kitchen, I was expecting something similar to Gail Carriger's Finishing School series (sans the assassins, spies, & supernatural critters), but it went in a completely different direction, and delightfully so! Claire Trevelyan is an excellent protag—I'll always approve of a woman who chooses chosen family & intellectual pursuits over blood family & romance—and the whole story is well-written. I am fascinated by this alternate London where petroleum fails and (coal-powered) steam (and occasionally electricity) is the only way to go; and the aplomb with which Claire takes up her new life when her old falls apart is definitely exciting. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Its a great read, with plenty of description of life in the futuristic history of this particular series.

    Fantastic

Loved it! Im a big fan of classic books and this is a great spin of the 19th century...even people who are not will enjoy this. Can't wait to read the second book.
