    Lovely

Characters are delightfully described. Reading of hardships of the past can help women of the future be very grateful or be wary of things that might go wrong. Very charming and well written work.

    A Sweet Historical Romance

A captivating story of finding romance in the most obvious of places with a friend. A lot of Christian undertones but I imagine that to be more historically accurate than a lot of romances.

    A Lady of High Regard

A wonderful novel as is all of Tracy Peterson are. I not only enjoyed the historical fiction but the simple truths of God and how we as Christians should respond. Although this novel is set well over 200 years ago the basic tenets of faith are just as applicable today, to help the poor, the widows and orphans. I loved the character of Mia and how she was so willing to put herself in harms way in order to get justice for the downtrodden. Especially when it was at a time when the role of women was to stay in their home to do needlework. She was definitely a woman of high regard that is a wonderful example to all who are called to follow the Lord's commands.

    A Lady of High Regard

Loved the characters, their evolving stories, their working through the ensuing treachery in trying to help the disadvantaged & how their faith helped them in the midst of it all.

    Too formulaic

This was supposed to be suspenseful but I laughed out loud at the suspenseful moments because, despite this only being the second book by this author that I've read, I can already discern the formula: The chipped plate never breaks, while the villain captures the feisty, broke-the-mould heroine (after the hero tames her), to sell her into prostitution. The hero swoops in at the last minute to save her and propose. No surprises here.
