    Exquisitely written novel

Yes you read that correctly I'm giving this first time author a 5 star review of her beautifully heartbreaking love story called Larkin's Letters. Why you ask? Because its an absolutely elegantly written story. 10% in and I was already crying. After a lifetime of being best friends Ryan and Larkin realize they are in love with each other. Not just in love, but the deep life changing, soul soothing love that we all dream of falling in to. They complete each others life. Larkin has passed away and has left Ryan something to see him through his grief. Letters she has secretly written to him over the two years that she has been battling cancer. Through her letters we relive her struggle with cancer and her fairy tale love affair with Ryan and its undeniably heartbreaking because the whole time you are reading you know that Larkin has passed on and that there will be no growing old together for Ryan and Larkin. Larkin's letters ultimately help to heal Ryan but not before the memories they evoke shred his heart all over again. Larkin and Ryan's tale is the ultimate love story. Not only are these two the very vision of what love should be they are also the best friends that everyone should try to be or hope to have in their life. One could only pray to have a friend like Larkin or Ryan, and if you are that lucky to have a friend or lover like Larkin or Ryan this book will certainly make you cherish that person more. This exquisitely written debut novel is one you should not pass up, even with the sadness it makes you feel. You just can't help feeling what Larkin and Ryan feel for each other and the feelings they have at what is happening to them, this novel oozes emotions and that is why it has earned a 5 Star rating from me, when a book can make me feel all the emotions as the characters do, it deserves 5 Stars! Grab yourself a box of tissues, a nice drink of some type and find your favorite spot to curl up with Larkin's Letters.

    Beautifully written

Favorite Quotes: “It had taken a tragedy to make him realize that he not only wanted to show her his world, but in fact, he had wanted to be her world.” “Larkin, all I ask is that you give me today so I can prove to you that I am your tomorrow.” “In your letters, you often ask me why I was so good to you. Larkin, all I did was love you.” My Review: Books rarely make me cry and seldom cause me to even tear up. I have read the same books that other reviewers claimed they cried the whole way through, that had not affected me at all... I actually have had the disturbing thought that I may have tipped over into the realm of the dark hearted and completely jaded. This issue is no longer a concern, as I was frequently moved to tears by this poignant and beautifully crafted love story. Although I don’t want to give the impression the book is depressing, it is not. It is extremely touching, expertly crafted, and meticulously edited. I frequently had a large lump in my throat, a tightness in my chest, and also noticed I needed to blink away a strange fluid in my eyes on numerous occasions. Then, it happened… I had to stop - more than a few times - to catch my breath until the sobbing passed. My precious little husband was extremely alarmed. It was an extraordinary experience. Congratulations Ms. Jillian, you have warmed my cold heart. I adored the story and truly loved the ending, it was very clever and unique. Ingenious even. I so hope that is how heaven actually works, as if I would have any chance of gaining entrance…
