    Very good

A new book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders world. It can be read as a standalone and even if you are not a ice hockey ( like me) it is a great read. The focus of the story is with the main characters and their relationship. Ansleigh and Brock have both been hurt in the past, but together they are opening up themselves for another chance. It is a very emotional journey with ups and down. Secrets, distance and insecurities all try and ruin their relationship. It is a beautiful, well written book, with funny, sweet, tender and sexy moments.

Brock (Las Vegas Sidewinders #7) by Kat Mizera

Kat Mizera scores with BROCK, the seventh book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. NHL defenseman Brock Lassiter and actress Ashleigh Hunter did not remember getting married on their date. However, the situation could work in both their favor. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audience. Kat Mizera does a great job with her character development and plot. Ashleigh is a noble character. I like that she wants to adopt Bella Reardon. She doesn’t fit the stereotype of Hollywood starlet. Brock is a good guy who always seems to get in trouble. He has no interest in relationships after having his heart broken by the only woman he ever loved. The couple has a lot in common, like being raised by their single mothers. They have amazing chemistry. The plot was believable and heartfelt. The couple face numerous obstacles, including working in different states and wanting to adopt Bella. The story was well-written and interesting for start to finish. The ending was well concluded. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

    New author

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. There are 5 other books in this series  but their descriptions were not the types of books I like but this one sounded really good. Fake marriage, Las Vegas, hockey player and actress and a kid. So I really wanted to read it. I am happy to say I really LOVED it! This is the story about Ashleigh, an actress in Hollywood who is popular, I would say a B level actress. She has a supporting character role on a TV Vampire show. Growing up she was very poor and she ended up homeless so she really believes in giving back. While helping in a shelter, she met a little girl Belle, and fell in love and took the little girl home. But Belle, has a sister who doesn't want to let go, even though her life is dangerous and so Ashleigh is fighting to adopt Belle with the sister, Meanwhile Ashleigh's best friend is Rachel who is dating a hockey player who lives and works in Vegas. She drives to Vegas a lot and she talks Ashleigh into taking a break and joining her one weekend and that is how she meets Brock. Brock and Ashleigh have a few dates and on the second one end up drunk and VERY married. But they really like each other and he wants to help her out with Belle so they decide to stay married, even as they live in different places and have very different and intense careers. This is their story of being there for each other and falling in love with the other. It was a fun story, with lots of romance and flirtiness. There is no bad guys or characters. The biggest issues Ashleigh and Brock have are time and distance and making things work while dealing with each others insecurities and getting to know each other

    LOVED IT

I love hockey players and I loved this book. I have read other Sidewinder books and this one is one of the best. I loved Brock and Ashleigh's story. This couple really needed each other, not for the reasons they think but because they each others other half. Great characters with a great story and there is actual hockey being played.

    A must read book!

Las Vegas Sidewinders series is awesome! All these hockey players are awesome and how they care about each other like family. Brock doesn't do relationship. Ashleigh don't want to jeopardize the adoption of 8 years old Bella but when they met, chemistry happen and is like love at first sight, not only with Brock and Ashleigh but also with Bella! This story is awesome, how Brock find himself moving from a no relationship man to a family man in no time! I really liked the story of Brock and Ashleigh and how Kat keep bringing all the other players to the story. This book is awesome and must read!
