  • Lou and Sully

Oh my god! The emotions in this one are too real. Lou has destroyed his own happiness because of fear. He fell deeply in love with Sully only to run when faced with that truth. The phone calls, the poetry, the longing for Sully were very apparent. I loved that Sully didn't hang onto his anger but welcomed him back with open arms. The last chapter was sheer perfection.

  • Loved it!

This is an amazing story and even though it is very quick there is a lot of emotion and sweetness packed into it. Every message left by Lou comes from his heart and he wants Sully to know that he is always in his thoughts. Sully's heart breaks every time he listens to Lou's messages but he can't stop himself from listening to them. Both of them are miserable without each other but equally unable to move on. I love this well written and emotional story and I can't wait to read more books by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

  • If you love romance, this story is a MUST read!!

Every now and then I come across a story that just breaks me (in the best way) and my emotions get churned up so much that it's hard for me to settle back down. Some people call it a book hangover and that's exactly how I felt when I finished this short novelette. I'm still thinking about this book and I finished it over 12 hours ago. I'm sure I'll still be thinking about it weeks into the future. I don't even believe I can really say anything significant about the story without giving too much away. I'm going to stick with: I've never read anything like this – a story made up of answering machine messages. It's actually a little more than that as we know what Sully's thoughts are as he's listening to the messages. I have a confession. I rarely purchase books/stories that are this short. I know authors work hard on their books no matter what length they are, but I usually reserve my spending for longer length stories. Books by Nell Iris are one of a few exceptions for me. I couldn't order my copy of this one fast enough after reading the ARC I received. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***
