    Super Great!

I love this series and Lisa Kessler's writing! I love the romance and the suspense! Legend of Love is the 2nd book in the Muse Chronicles, and although each book is about a different Muse and their Guardian, I think it's best to read the first book before this one or you will have some spoilers for the first in this book, and the first book is excellent as well, so no hardship there. The Muses are in danger because someone is out to kill them so they can't open a theater and inspire people to do great things, and to help out the Muses, each has a Guardian that will supposedly help them out, and each of these Guardians will have something special to help the Muses succeed. In this book, we get Callie's story, she is the Muse of Epic Poetry, which means she has the desire to be a bit of a daredevil. Callie also works as a psychiatrist on a military base, and that's where she meets Hunter. Hunter is a soldier that just had a mission where one of his fellow soldiers didn't make it back home, so he needs to get approval to return to service. Hunter and Callie feel an attraction towards each other, but Callie is hesitant because she has a bad experience from her past that affects her. Callie and Hunter are really sweet together and have some super hot moments and some swoon worthy moments, and I love how honest they are with each other; there's no games. Legend of Love is entertaining and I enjoyed the action, and I'm super excited to read the next book!

Strong 2nd book to great series

This book picks up where the previous one left off. The sisters are working together to refurbish the theatre, and the Kronos worshippers are doing anything they can to get in their way. Callie, who houses the muse of epic poetry, is a complex character. A civilian psychiatrist contracted to work with the military, Callie has past traumas of her own that she keeps wrapped tightly within. When she lets her muse loose, people get hurt, so it's safer that way. Well, it seems that way until Navy SEAL Hunter walks through her door for a mandated appointment after losing a comrade in a raid. The two are obviously drawn to each other, like moths to flame, but Callie is reluctant to open herself to anyone. Hunter's character was perfect and swoon-worthy. Who doesn't love a military man with a heart of gold? I especially enjoy this series because the characters are complex, but real, and the background is rich in its setting, mythological history, and secondary characters. The end of the book even gives a hint of which couple the next book will follow. I, for one, cannot wait to read it. This was fast, easy, and fun read with the perfect amount of spice, character development, and action. Another fun five star read from Lisa Kessler.

    I recommend this series

It did take a while to remember the theme of the series, as it seemed a long wait between books. I enjoyed this one as much as the first book.

    Epic !!

Navy SEAL, Captain Hunter Armstrong is desperate to get back to the desert and rescue the team mate they lost, but until intelligence find out where he is being held he can't go anywhere. The navy insist he see a shrink to make sure he's got his head together. Dr Callie O'Connor is also the "Muse of Epic Poetry " that makes her a bit of an adrenaline junkie. She finds it hard to live without excitement. As the Muses are targets of the Order of Titans, that excitement can be deadly. Our heroine is doing her best to keep the sexy SEAL at arms length. Our hero us used to fighting for what he wants. He relishes the challenge. A very exciting and epic romantic suspense. You could read this as a stand alone but it's better to read the series to follow the background story. I'm totally hooked on this series and can't wait for the next book.

I'm completely in love with this series

I'm completely in love with this series, and I'm waiting anxiously for each and every book in this series. The second book in this series takes the story further, by introducing a new Guardian, Hunter, but also by making the villains more evil and scarier, maybe even a little bit deranged. Hunter is an interesting choice for a Guardian. I like how his military career was portrayed and how it played into his role as a Guardian. I also liked the fact that he didn't have the same gift as Nate, so I'm assuming each Guardian will have different gifts. I'm also assuming that their gifts are somehow tied to what the Muse they're protecting. Callie was a great heroine. I like how she dedicates herself to working with military men and women, to help them heal from traumas from being in war zones. The thing I liked most about her is that she's not perfect, she has a little bit of a wildness in her, due to her Muse, that she tries a lot to keep under control. I liked Callie and Hunter together, they make a great team, and I liked the little glimpse into Mel and Nate's future. The pacing was great, and there were a few developments in the overall story, that of some really deranged people trying to keep the Muses from opening up the Theater of the Muses, that I'm very curious to see how it will play out in the future books. All in all, a great book and one that any urban fantasy lover should add to their TBR piles.
