    A great series

I have read all 4 of these books separately , and would recommend this series to anyone. DV has the knack of keeping us interested and all the while introducing us to new problems that exist in the world today, wrapped in a thriller.

    LEINE BASSO. VOL 2

THE LAST DECEPTION. Leine works for SHEN, another girl has been rescued. Time to go home, when she finds her friend Janice and the field hospital at the refuge camp she works at has been destroyed. Leine makes a detour to the Egyptian border to check on Janice. A stranger, from Russia, politics, and the deeper she gets involved. Will they trust her, in this mass deception. A thrilling book, that readers will want to read and not put down. DARK RETURN Leine Basso had no regrets looking at the dead man, one down, more to go. She was one person against the sale of human beings. SHEN organization she works for, wanting her to go to Tunisani, children under ten. Before leaving she rescues Jinn, a young girl living on the streets, pick pocket an item, she’s in danger now. Someone wants them dead, and Leine is injured. Plans went terrible wrong, would they get rescued. Leine has a mission, would it ever stop, for her to have a life. I enjoy her books, you meet the main characterizes, you feel like you know them personally. The story flows taking you on a ride you won’t forget. Leine made a close friend with Jinn, but lost some others she had worked with. Each book is better than the last, and readers won’t want to miss.

    Captivating series ....

As an armchair thrill-seeker, I have been thoroughly entertained by each of the Leine Basso books. Without leaving the comfort of your favorite chair you can travel to exotic locales, experience adrenalin-fueled action, and get caught up in captivating plots that allow you an exciting and pleasurable little vacation from your own life. If you want a brief synopsis of each story, read the blurb for that book (or the other reviews). My review is about the series, itself. The main plotline in each book is satisfactorily resolved but there are secondary/background story lines that allow one book to neatly segue into the next. You will not be subjected to the cruel stab of a sudden cliffhanger ending. The main characters are all unique, well-developed, and absorbing. There are several supporting characters which appear in multiple books and they, like the main characters, continue to evolve as the series progresses. Unlike many books of the thriller genre, you will not be inundated with foul language, you will not be subjected to excessively gruesome descriptions, and, as mentioned earlier, you will not be taunted by an abrupt cliffhanger ending. There is violence but it is appropriate to the situation in which the characters find themselves. D. V. Berkom always draws you in right from the first page and keeps you turning those pages until way past your bedtime. I highly recommend this author and this series for anyone who enjoys fast-paced, intelligent thrillers involving relevant and timely issues.
