    Light After Dark

Mallory and her mystery man have both gone through huge challenges in their lives and we root for them to make it through the summer as they both stare down their shared 40th birthday. So enjoyed the relationships Mallory continues to builds with her Dad, Step Mom, Siblings and extended family, she has really become an integral part of this cohesive unit. So glad to travel back to Gansett Island and check in with all of our friends. Marie promises this series will continue to grow and more updates are promised in the form of "episodes" featuring some of our favourite couples as well as new full length novels. Loved this story very much!!

Another great trip to Gansett Island

Marie Force books are always such a joy for me to pick up and read, especially if we are visiting Gansett Island! Not only do we get the story of Mallory and we get to go on the adventure that is "The Summer of Mallory", but we also get to catch up with some of our other favorite island residents. After a year full of change, Mallory is back on Gansett trying to figure out what is next for her. She's lost her mom and her job and found her father and a huge extended family that she can't be happier to have. She's trying to figure out what is best for her as she moves forward, all with a secret that she hasn't let her new family in on. Mallory ends up meeting a couple of very nice men during a meeting she attends on the island. Mason is the fire chief and Quinn is the new doctor that is going to be running the new extended care facility on the island. She's intrigued by both men, but which one will she choose? As Mallory and one of the men get to really know one another, they realize they have much more in common than they initially realized. They both have had struggles, kept secrets and are working on coming out stronger on the other end and together they realize they could be stronger as a unit. I really enjoyed the story! Marie does a fantastic job of making you feel like you are friends with all of the people that are on the island and that you're dropping in to check in on everyone. I'm looking forward to the stories that are still to come from this awesome island!

Love Gansett so pleased to be back

So I was extremely lucky to be picked to receive an ARC copy of this book, but Marie Force is a one click author for me anyway! Gansett just keeps getting better and better in my opinion, I love that we get to revisit those couples we have come to love over the years and we get insights into what is going on in their lives. This novel is following the story of Mallory, Big Mac's daughter who he has recently learnt about, Mallory is trying to find her place in the beautiful Maccarthy family, full of love and family teasing, through the course of this novel Mallory feels more comfortable with her newly discovered siblings and parents, its lovely to read and witness. She also finds love after some suffering in her younger years, Mallory has gone through a lot and Marie handles her issues with great care, it was a topic that was brought to life as it really does happen, it helped to make the story more realistic for me. People who read this will have gone through similar issues to Mallory and reading how it can be overcome would bring hope. I'm not going to comment on her hero, but we are kept guessing for a while but so worth the wait. Yet another great addition to Gansett, so looking forward to whatever comes next, always something new and exciting from this series, the heartbreak doesn't last for long and love prevails!

Loved this series... love this book.

WOW!! What a book.. this by far is my new favorite Gansett Island book. Loved Mallory and Quinn. Actually was yelling NO! at the book when Mason kept asking her out. I just had a gut feeling he was wrong for her. Absolutely love how they were upfront and honest with each other from the beginning. They shared secrets with each other that no one else knew. They loved each other faults, flaws and all. She was so genuine with him when she said she loved him for the man he was and didn't see his disability as negative. They were both strong willed individuals who didn't like to ask for help. They were use to doing everything on their own and they had fought for what they had and what they had overcome a lot from loss, to alcoholism and love. They both have lost and they both have found and they fond love and strength in each other and it was lovely to see. The letter Mallory wrote to her Mother had me crying. It was so heartfelt. Raw and Honest. Loved Big Mac and Linda's response. Truthfully I would expect nothing less from a family who's hearts are bigger than the Island. They loved her from the start with no strings. She has found her heart and is now home where she belongs. Would have like to have seen Mallory talk to her siblings about her past and the lost of her husband and the fact that she is an alcoholic. She has a lot in common with a few of the Gansett Girls and it would be nice to see them bond. Maybe in future books. Another book you have hit out of the park Marie. This is by far my Favorite book of 2016.
