    UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

This story is about grief, unconditional love & companionship, and the emotional support that runs between Ted and Lily and how Ted deals with his and Lily's problems. Mr. Rowley's uses the octopus as an analogy of the crisis in Ted and Lily's life. Lily's crisis is medical, Ted's is emotional. Mr. Rowley skillfully created a story which expertly shows that we can run from the piper but the piper must be paid and we as humans must grieve, pick ourselves up, carry on, and live life to the fullest. I ran the gauntlet of emotions reading this story. Author Steven Rowley grabs you deep in your heart and does not let go. Mr This story has many levels and depths. Mr. Rowley sets the hook in the first pages and then reels you into the story. This is one of the best books I have read this year; few books have affected me as this one. I highly recommend this book by a talented author. This book is suitable for readers that like a solid well-developed and paced story.

    Stunning

If you have ever really loved a dog you will love this book. It is full of humour and raw emotion as the narrator tells the story of his relationship with his dog and the situation they must deal with.

    Delightful magical realism

A funny and intelligent story about a man and his beloved dog. Completely enjoyable yet heartfelt at the same time. I didn't want it to end.

    What the heck?

This book kept me reading only because I was trying to figure out what was going on! After it was all said and done not a bad book but a little convoluted.

    I kept h0ping....

I have owned and loved many pets so I kept reading this book. I could have skipped to the last several chapters and would have enjoyed a sweet short story but I plugged though the ridulious wondering why I was tormenting myself. Save ourself from what I did not, and pass this one up.
