    Little Mercies

I gave this book a 5 star rating because I was so emotionally moved by the "accident" involving Ellen Moore's baby girl, named Avery. Every year babies become helpless victims of their parents rushed and overextended lives and this book reveals how easily bad things can happen to good people. Heather Gudenkauf's style of writing makes the reader feel as though you were reading an alarming email from your very closest lifetime friend. You will feel the heart breaking pain and guilt Ellen feels while she is coping with this horrific accident. At the same time, we are introduced to a young girl by the name of Jenny who's life has been disrupted by irresponsible adults. Alternately, we read about one injured baby from good loving parents and another young child from negligent parents and the combination of the two, keeps the readers captivated from the first word to the final one. There's more key people also involved and they become an instrumental part of the storey, where a happy ending is discovered.

    Very good

This book makes you realize that even to the best of us, the unthinkable can happen. Love the way the author compares the protagonist to the characters with whom she works with sees the similarities. Well written and thought provoking.
