  • opposites attract

Jonathan, Earl of Lindsey, is bound and determined to not marry, but he agrees to find the stolen art from his father's estate to fulfill some of the requirements of the will. Lady Caroline needs to marry well, and her cousins are more than happy to help her become betrothed by the end of the season. Meeting in unusual circumstances, fate keeps throwing them together. He's a rakehell, and Caroline should be avoiding him, but desire seems to get in the way. Along the way to finding the art, there's mystery, danger, and while they fight the attraction between them, there's no denying the chemistry. Can these two, destined to be together, accept the differences between them and find a way to love or will they let the unknowns keep them apart? Wonderful romance I recommend! **received an ARC from the publisher**

  • Loved This!!

I loved this book. An intelligent heroine and hero! Jonathan, Lord Lindsey, after hearing his abusive fathers will, was set on a wild goose chase to find a trio of missing paintings that would set the Earldom back to its once wealthy status. That was only one bequest he had to follow, the other ways to produce an heir, something he had no intention of doing. That was until he met beautiful and vivacious Lady Caroline. Caroline and her parents had rushed back to England from Italy, thinking they wanted her to join the Season and find a husband, but that was only part of it. With the help of her cousins, she joined the Season and the numerous parties determined only to marry for love, that was until she met the dashing Lord Lindsey. What follows is what neither of them wanted or intended, but fate had other plans. I’ve read all of Anabelle Bryant’s books, this one by far is my favorite! I highly recommend.

  • A Regency Romp

A new Earl must fulfill two requirements for the remainder of his inheritance settlement. A new debutante looking for a husband and love. A chance encounter at a ball in a study. Another ball, and another study. More encounters give the scandalous Earl something he's never had before. Hilarious masquerade ball! Very clever! Steamy hot encounters. A few unresolved issues. Resolved in the next book??? I hope so! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

  • Predictable but enjoyable

The story was slow to begin; I was afraid it wouldn’t keep my interest and that it would be a chore to finish. Fortunately, that was not the case. The story was relatively predictable and nothing earth-shattering, but I appreciated the romance. The hero and heroine didn’t make demands upon each other, didn’t want to change the other, didn’t have to prove themselves. It may not have been the easiest thing, but they simply allowed themselves to fall in love. I was quite taken with that part of the story. I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
