    Exciting and heartwarming adventure...

This is the second book in the Alpha Underground series, and it is a wonderful, exciting, and engaging, installment that will surely capture your attention from start to finish. I enjoyed experiencing Fen’s continued evolution into a more confident and more trusting person/werewolf. Her relationship with her mother is a big part of this story and it was wonderful to see how past grievances were resolved. Her relationship with Hunter also plays a significant role in this story and, happily, it also matures into something with more substance. There is plenty of action, villainy, and intrigue along the way to keep the reader’s interest from waning. New characters are introduced, both werewolf and “one-body” (human) which will hopefully become regulars in this wonderfully entertaining series. I listened to the audio version of this book while reading along with it on my e-reader and I think that whichever format you prefer, you will be delighted. It is easy to become so immersed in the story that you sometimes lose patience with the narrator and want her to read faster but that is true of any really good story. I found the narrator’s cadence and inflections somewhat annoying at times (too much emphasis on “I”, “me”, “my”…) but felt that, overall, she did a good job. The violence is not graphic, the language is not foul, the sex scenes are steamy, and the basic story is captivating. Another winning story from this talented and imaginative author. I am very much looking forward to more from this series.

    Awesome book!

Awesome book! Romance, passion, suspense, and intrigue all in one book. Fast paced. Never a dull moment. I can't wait for the next one.

    Loved it

LOVE this book! I love this group of characters. I can relate to Fen in some ways and I was so happy when she finds and creates her family. They feel like part of my family and I can't wait to see what happens next. I have never read a book that makes me feel so much a part of their world. There are definite twist and turns, shocking moments, moments where you will laugh, and cry, and some where you get mad or want to scream out in warning. But when the fireflies take off, you will feel such a sense happiness and of contentment that you just won't believe. If you enjoy werewolf/shifter novels, this is a great series!! I thoroughly enjoy reading Aimee Easterling's books. If you like this series look into her other they are wonderful as well.

    Getting better

Fen still was thinking of herself as a rejected and weak werewolf. Good her mate Hunter pushed her to face a reality she had not wanted to deal with. He knew his mate needed to move on. When she received news about her father she knew she didn’t have other choice. But things were not as she had though and soon they were in great danger. This second book was very interesting with action, suspense, intrigue, a lot of rogue werewolves and a good ending. Liked the twists in the story and how the plot development showed a Fen with a new purpose and sense of value. Well written story that with the good descriptions, narrations and characters that were very intriguing. kept me interested until the end.

Fen & Hunter don't like to do things the easy way

This is the 2nd story in the Alpha Underground books about Fen and Hunter both of whom featured in the original Wolf Rampant trilogy and who don't like to do things the easy way?!. My reading order was just right for me, which was more by luck than planning, with book 1 Half Wolf, then Dark Wolf Adrift which is a linked book which gives insight into Hunter, followed by Book 2 Lone Wolf Dawn and finished off with Book 3 Wolf Landing. As with all the books mentioned above there was a good sense of humour alongside a solid moral compass all accompanied by feisty but not overbearing females.
