Macy and Elliott's story is more than just romance

Christina Lauren is one of my go to one-click authors. I haven't read a book by this duo that I haven't loved. Love and Other Words is yet another magnificent masterpiece by these ultra talented ladies. Macy and Elliott's story is more than just a romance. It is a coming of age, second chance, best friends and family story with a hint of romance. Told through present day and flashbacks this story will grab a hold of your attention and your emotions, running you through a gauntlet of real life experiences. If you are new to Christina Lauren's writing then this is the perfect book to get your feet wet. Not as steamy as their Beautiful series and not a rom-com like Dating You/Hating You but thoroughly enjoyable all the same. 5 stars **Review by Amy W., Late Night Reviewer for Up All Night w/ Books**

    Sweetest first kiss. Ever.

Oh, watching them, two nerdy book lovers who grow up together and slowly develop feelings for each other through their mutual love of words. And reading them transition into naive, sweet, insecure teenage lovers .....sigh... so so sweet. (Hand to chest, sigh, eyes misting... ) one of my favourite character developments ever. ....and I adored the Dual POV. But, the authors didn’t do the rest of the book justice. The Big Misunderstanding was so maddening, and contrived as a plot device, it was grating. I kept waiting for the Gilligan’s Island theme song to start playing as I read it...annnnnd there was No Way Anyone could have helped with the Big Mystery? In that whole community? Meh. After such a great start, I felt like the authors had no where to go/ out of ideas so hastily cobbled some kind of plot to make it into a book. Disappointing after a wonderful beginning. Still because the beginning was so sweet I recommend it.

    Fall in love!

Authors Christina Lauren... you broke my heart, in a delightful way. Swoon factor is off the charts with this book. Macy & Elliott friendship and how they came to be in love was superb! This book has many emotional feels to it. You get love, heartbreak, a bit of mystery, tragedy, with a happily ever after. I enjoyed stepping back and forth with the characters from their past and present lives. Go Grab this book and fall in love with the words.
