    Fantastic read!

Oh YES!! Another cracker from Molly E Lee!! Love Between Enemies is the second book in the series of Grad Night books. The main characters (Zoey and Gordon), feature in the first book – Love in the Friend Zone – but they can both be read as standalones. What I especially liked about Love Between Enemies, was that the events that take place happen at the exact same time as the events in book one, just from Zoey and Gordon's perspectives. Very clever!! Zoey Handler and Gordon Meyers have been rivals, competing for one thing or another, since kindergarten. Now they've hit senior year the stakes are much higher – a full scholarship and summer internship are up for grabs – and the likelihood is, out of everyone who’s applied, they're the two that will be shortlisted. It also turns out that one of them in particular (as an act of revenge), will do anything they can to be the successful candidate! I found Love Between Enemies a little slow going at first (only because I was impatient and wanted to know the outcome asap, lol), but I loved it, and I’m looking forward to reading Lennon and Jade’s story in the final book of this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you read the first book in the grad night series Love in the Friend Zone then you know all about Gordon and Zoey. After reading that one, I was so waiting for their story. Gordon and Zoey are the smartest kids in the school. This has also made them competitors. It was always a cordial competitiveness though, until Gordon finds out Zoey went out for the same scholarship as him and won it. He really needed that to go to Stanford and doesn’t understand why Zoey would double cross him when he asked her if she was going for it and she said no. Plus her family has plenty of money so she doesn’t need it. Angry about his stolen scholarship Gordon does something horrible. After the events of graduation day Zoey vows to get Gordon back. Over the course of the night, both realize things aren’t always what they seem and they may have a lot more in common than they thought but can things that were put in motion be righted by the time the night is over? Books like this are why I love contemporary YA romance. It was very realistic and I could feel for the actions of Zoey and Gordon. Teens tend to act first and think about the consequence later which doesn’t usually work out for the best. I felt so bad for Gordon after the conflict in the story. I just didn’t know how it was going to be fixed but I really loved the resolution to their dilemma. It’s so sweet to see two teens fall in love and kind of transition to that next stage of adulthood at the same time. They were a lot more grown up in making things right than some of the heroes and heroines in adult books I have read. I would definitely recommend this book. I hope the next story is about the rocker and the mathlete.

Thin Line Between Love and Hate

Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite types of stories. The chemistry is beyond explosive and the phrase 'there's a thin line between love and hate' is always taken to another level. This book absolutely defined enemies and I loved how thin that line was for Gordon and Zoey. Gordon and Zoey have known each other since kindergarten and have been competing in virtually everything for almost just as long. The competition has always been healthy between them but at their graduation that changes and revenge becomes the name of the game for both of them. The amazing thing about this book is that all of it takes place over a 24 hour period but there was so much packed into that day. I couldn't stop reading once I started. While Zoey seems to have everything and Gordon seems to be losing it all, at the foundation, they are exactly the same. It takes bad decisions from both of them for them to learn that they are absolutely perfect for each other and that they could have had so much more if they had ever bothered to look past the constant battle to be first. Love in the Friend Zone, book one in this series, has been on my TBR forever and this book has pushed it to the top. I can't wait for the final book in this series. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
