    finding a forever love

Reid was a side character in a previous book and I am so glad he got his own book!!! Darby is adorable and quit sassy - loved her. She just doesn't see herself like Reid and her friends do. I didn't really understand how anyone could see her as the "ugly stepsister". Reid has an outside obstacle to over come - well one that some put on him. These two have sparks flying at first sight!!! Loved their internal thoughts concerning each other and found myself laughing out loud. There is something that could keep them from falling forever. The ending was so sweet and made me smile. There are explicit moments in this book so beware. I requested a copy of this book these thoughts are my own.

    Loved this book!

I have been waiting for Reid's story since I read Mackenna and Joe's story in Saying I Do. Tracey Alvarez always manages to write characters who are unique, interesting, and believable. Darby is a young breast cancer survivor and Reid sews wedding gowns for a living. Love Everlasting combines humor (lots of it!), angst, romance and mortality to make an amazing story that I couldn't put down.

    Love Darby’s sense of humor!

This is book 10 in the Stewart Island series and it features Reid and Darby. Cancer is the elephant in the room in this steamy, funny, yet sometimes serious romantic story. The fear of losing someone to it. The fear of having it or getting it again. These two have had a tough journey individually. Wouldn't it be better together? Fear has a funny way of preventing that from happening. This is another fabulous story with characters I’d love to have as my own friends. The story had me hooked from beginning to end. I always love revisiting old friends and it was wonderful to see Joe and MacKenna again. As always, I look forward to the next book!

Love in a time of cancer

I really don’t know how Tracey Alvarez keeps coming up with such diverse and engaging characters and storylines—but you will be hard pressed to find any more intriguing and likeable than Reid and Darby and the wild ride to their HEA. Among other deterrents, Darby has a crush on someone else, she has just finished treatment for breast cancer, and she is one of the most awkward and klutzy people imaginable. But she owns it. What she doesn’t deal with as easily is her cancer. She does not want to be known as “Cancer Girl”, and does not want people to know, because they treat her differently. Reid, who is an incredibly confident and handsome guy, is sometimes mistakenly labeled gay because of his chosen profession, dressmaking. He is not looking, gets roped into a situation that brings him into the same orbit as Darby, and not happily, at first. But in spite of himself, he finds Darby’s eccentricities endearing and starts considering possibilities. Unfortunately, he has been the caregiver for his mother, who died of breast cancer. This becomes a problem mainly caused by well-meaning friends, trying to keep each one from being hurt because of their cancer-related pasts. There were times that I just wanted them to talk to each other and stop trying to figure each other out. But then they WOULD talk, but totally misinterpret what the other said. HMMM, just like real life? The plot thickens, and then.. You will just have to read the book and believe me, you will find it was totally worth it‼

    Contemporary Romance (New Zealand)

Love Everlasting by Tracey Alvarez Stewart Island #10 Every single book I have read by this author is a keeper and one that I will revisit. Her characters are people I would love to meet and spend time and the nice thing is that I can do just that when I sit down and read the words that have been written. One is not given guarantees in life so one should focus on the present and make each day worth living – and that is just what Darby is doing. Sure, she has had to deal with breast cancer but she has done all that was recommended and lived four years after her diagnosis BUT she is not “cancer free” and that puts a kibosh on her search for a long term happily ever after. She has friends and family and a support group and is not “that cancer girl” that so many who have cancer become. She has dreams and wants romance and all the rest but...is she brave enough to risk love? She would love that fairy tale ending but kind of doubts she will get it. Reid Hudson is a man among men. He can create beautiful couture clothing, plan and execute a wedding and is a wonderful friend. He is also gorgeous, built and HOT! He is definitely a keeper. What starts out as working together to create the costumes for a charity drama event and ball soon leads to more hands on interaction and not hands on fabric. With both Reid and Darby feeling the chemistry but realizing that the future is uncertain...what will they decide to do? This story was absolutely wonderful and such a joy to read. I loved Darby and Reid and hoped they would find a way to a future together and was so thankful they had good friends to support them. I also liked how Prince Charming in the play wasn’t so charming and just how his underbelly was revealed. I can’t wait to read whatever this author writes next and highly recommend this to everyone. Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars
